He looks good but he needs to learn how to set a pick properly. So sloppy.

Yes, D-Mo should gain a bunch of wait and transform his game now. No one has ever made it in the league without a lot of muscles.

    ****ing idiots.

He isn't 18 years old anymore, he has a nice game suited for his body type....let him do his thing. So many of you dumbasses on this board would turn any player over 6'9" into a Robert Swift story all over again if you had the chance.

A big man in the NBA needs strength. It's one of many aspects of his game (defense, a right hand) he needs to work on. Still looks very promising though.

True, but Yao was a much better player when he got stronger.

Just watched the game and he got a lot of his points during garbage time. I may have to temper my expectations but nonetheless, him and TJones have a lot of potential. We'll see how this plays out during the season.

"The thing about Motiejunas is that he's ambidextrous"

"And he can use both hands!"

    Oh Matt Bullard.

nice stuff, he has a nice bag of tricks for a young guy, what was up with him leading the fastbreak, his dribbling looked great, if only he had Steve and Cat on the wings ;)

Nice to see DMo getting comfortable on the court. First game he look to be rushing things.

10 extra pounds of muscle wouldn't hurt. He'd be good at 235.

Yes, he looked really agile against Stephon Marbury and getting pantsed by Eduardo Najera, Stromile Swift, and ZaZa Pachulia.

He just needs to get stronger. Strength has little to do with muscle mass. Lower body strength is going to be important for him to challenge on rebounds.

He needs to get stronger in the lower body yes.

However, gaining immediate weight has nothing to do with his lower body strength. In his 3rd year in the league he will probably be up 10 pounds anyways just like Kevin Garnett and Pau Gasol ended up after a few seasons, and be just fine. I dont want to see him get to the 250 mark too soon.

Right now his weight probably fluxuates between 230 and 240. Let NBA trainers work with him in the offseason to add strength, keep him on a balanced high activity diet with a greater amount of protein & shakes in between meals with fresh fruits, and his body will take care of the extra weight naturally when its ready to. No need to start hitting the buffet at CiCi's or anything. You do more damage that way then you do good.

This Summer at one point he was reported to be at 240. Most likely with training camp and pre-training camp workouts he's probably more like 230 in the morning, and 235 in the evening right now. At his age right now, thats a pretty healthy weight.

Yao is not that much better later, His PER goes from about 20 in rookie year to around 25 in peak years. His added strength is negated partly by his lost agility and speed(and creativity but that's partly a JVG thing). If he just slowly and slightly added strength, he would have been a better version of Dirk/Gasol with durability.

DMo needs to slowly add strength, especially in lower body. Yao has super strong lower body as a rookie.

thanks for posting this clutch. D-Mo has everything you need to be an excellent 4 in this league. His post moves are already well ahead of where they should be for a rookie. And his 3 point shot has the ability to rival Kevin Love's. The kid can post up, rebound, and space the floor with his shooting. He just needs to add some defense.

Two years of good coaching and this guy will be a serious force. I am thrilled with what i saw in summer league and yesterday as well. He should have several more good preseason games now that he's over his infection and starting to get his wind back.

As far as i'm concerned Morey hit a home run with Lamb, T.Jones and D-mo. If we are truly serious about building something solid for the long term, we need to keep all 3 of these guys.

We really need video of his defense. We know he has a multi-faceted NBA quality offensive skillset. They key to whether DMO is going to get minutes or not is going to be how well he does on the defensive end.
