    To be an astronaut you have to be above 100 KM or about 60 miles. The US height for astronaut qualifications is a bit lower from the international requirement -- I think the Euros wanted a nice round number (100 k), but I know several pilots got their wings in the X-15 flying above 50 miles into space. So US 50 miles above the earth Euros 100 kilometers (62 miles) above the earth.

    how the hell did this guy land and stand on his own two feet like that?

    Incredible, most people just parachuting from normal heights just sort of collapse upon landing and this guy broke the speed of sound tumbling I don't know how many times and stood up.

    Balls of steel .
