It's closed because it's been rainy. I think the stadium operators make the call. They have some policy called 50/80. If the temp falls between that, the roof is open.
Any chance of rain, they're shutting the roof. They have to make the call very early, too, so chances always favor them shutting it. Finley got some 30 tickets for local family & friends at this game. He's determined to play. Coaches will have to yank him kicking and screaming. He's playing. They need him, too, with Jennings out.
I welcome Finley playing. Sure there's always that small chance he goes off for multiple TD's, but it's much more likely he drops multiple passes in critical situations. He's a great athlete and looks the part, but just not that good of a player.

I think McNair makes the call, because there have been many times the weather cooperated, but they kept it closed for more crowd noise.
My gf works at reliant. Sent me this <a href=http://s126.photobucket.com/albums/p88/alancamacho/?action=view¤t=imagejpeg_3_3.jpg target=_blank><img src=http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p88/alancamacho/imagejpeg_3_3.jpg border=0 alt=></a>
Not really. There have been several "close calls"... (ie - 81 degrees but completely clear), where they could have definitely had it open had it not be for the strict 50-80 rule... but they have never flat-out closed the roof for a home field advantage. I really hope the crowd takes to their seats EARLY... most SNF games are jam packed at the very START. I don't think I've ever seen a Houston game like that since the Oilers-Chiefs playoff game from 1994 (mostly because that game was an afternoon start and some fans had been their thinking it was a noon one.... like myself).
KPRC Channel 2 have their own pregame/countdown show starting now, leading up to the SNF pregame show, then kickoff if you're interested.
