I'm worrying, but I hope the coaching staff isn't. Lin needs to be confident that he can lead the team. I think he hasn't been able to practice shooting much, only rehab.

His shot is off and he's afraid of driving because of his injury. He just seems very, very rusty to the game. I think that's the sort of preseason shape you can hammer into shape though.

That's why he's -4. But he had a good game overall.

Lin's D was good on Parker, he didn't let him get into the paint. His offense was horrible. Asik was great as usual. Chandler had a bad game.

Reasons for the Lin's bad game:

    1. Driving too deep into traffic without any idea what to do
    2. Needs to get his shot down
    3. Still slow due to recovering knee

young team played young, so now they will believe their coach when he says the NBA is not kind to young teams

How long are we going to blame a minor knee injury from last season for Lin's obvious ineffectiveness?

Worse, I think Lin has regressed significantly. The expectations are made worse by Lin's shooting coach hyping his improved skills and Lin not being 100% physically.

He was effective on the last two games. This one was bad. It's worrying that his shot is not falling, that's where he's been weak at during these 3 games.

He's pretty bad in the game without a doubt, but why is he stays on the wing that's beyond me. McHale's offense is not working quite right.

It's not his knee. It's his head. Lin needs to relax and play with confidence.

We got a little taste of a real NBA team and overall we failed horribly. The little runs we made were mostly against the 2nd and 3rd stringers and size again is going to kill us. Smith looked okay in the first few minutes but then was completely outplayed by Blair / Curry. Still I think we should keep him, it's not like Johnson, Livingston or Brockman are going to matter much. Machado is also a keeper, who knows what kind of player he can be when he can hit the outside shot like he did at the end of the game. Would be another Lin type reaction when he's cut.

The two rookies Lamb and Jones were out of position most of the time on defense, leading to most of the break downs in the first quarter. That is the difference of having a guy like Patterson in there. Also, Lamb is still taking some inexplicable contested 3s that completely breaks the offense. He actually made a couple of these, but doesn't make it any less ugly. The rookies will learn though, and hopefully get up to speed sooner rather than later.

He is playing against a much more disciplined defense tonight than he did vs. either of the prior two opponents (Durant, Westbrook and Harden all played in the first game, but OKC sat its starting PF, Ibaka, and C, Perkins). San Antonio was good at clogging up the paint.

Also, it probably didn't help that Martin and, to a degree, Patterson missed today's game. I don't think the floor spacing looked right with the two rookies, Jones and Lamb, though they are clearly talented.

Feeling a bit of panic about how Lin played, have to remind myself it's still preseason.

No excuses, if it's really that bad he shouldn't be playing for next 2 weeks

I don't know about his knee if he is out there playing then I personally don't use it as an excuse. Anyway he was struggling with his offense his shot just wasn't falling. But his defense was good. Same thing happened with Parsons. Get used to games like this it happens to every NBA player.

Lin's not making his shots, a -5, played against Spurs' starters.

Machado has 9 pts, 11 assists, a -4, played against Spurs' bench.

Do you really want to give up on Lin and start Machado already?
