I believe Omer Asik(SO FAR) has been more worthy of the money we paid for him, whereas Lin has been average.

Anyone agree? Or are you guys still on the Lin bandwagon?

Wait til the regular season starts FFS. There are other PGs in the league that have performed similarly to Lin in these preseason games and no one is mentioning them at all. It's getting really irritating.

Yeah I think its preseason still so its far to early to say anyone is worth or not worth the contract at this point. Lets check this back at half a season and end of this year. my 2 cents...

    They are both worthy.

    We, however, are not.

Cautious yes for Asik, but keep in mind he hasn't played against a starting center (Perkins and Davis were out). He's been a monster on the boards, but his hands on offense are going to be a constant headache for fans.

Lin has played like an average NBA PG, in other words his salary. There hasn't really been anything to be disappointed with (unless you thought he was going to be droping 20/10 in pre-season ), but fans can still be optimistic about the fact that he's been getting to the paint the few times he makes up his mind to do so. I sincerely think he's taking it slow until the season starts. Why risk the knee?

I think that Lin's been injured and hasn't played much until training camp. Having said that, he's still been decent and we've been winning games. Omer has just really surprised because, according to McHale, he's been practicing hard for several months. Lin hasn't had that opportunity and yet he's been passable.

Everything's fine. $8,000,000 per year is acceptable for an above average, non-elite player. Give him a little more time.

His defense has been better than advertised.
His seems to be able to get into the paint at will.
His offense has not been needed thus far, and that is just hunkydory with me.
He's been running the show well and the team seems to be in good sync.
And the team is 2-0 thus far, one against the Western Conference Champions, the other a blowout.

WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT from a PG? The Jeremy Lin Show with him penetrating and scoring all the time? He's played a solid PG game and for me that is always great to see. For a PG, it's all about the wins and we can't know anything yet until we start winning or losing when the real season starts.

As for Omer, he looks great and I hope that he'll continue to show that he has better hands than advertised.

The team as a whole is looking good though

Based on 2 preseason games, yes. But both are probably also going to look like they deserve 100 mill in 1 or 2 games this season and then have others where they look like amateurs.

    Pointless thread.

The title of your thread should make anything you say after it void.

There is no battle for who starts at point guard, and no battle for who starts at center, so it doesn't really matter what either of these guys does in the preseason and they know it. I'll wait to the regular season to assess which was the better acquisition.

'based on the 2 pre season games'

if that's the underlying structure of your argument ... stand down.
