The olympics are seriously considering putting 2on2 basketball in as an event? How would that work? Each country can only select 2 of their best players to play together and subs in case of injury? Sounds lame..
Guts and creativity, yeah it only happens in streetball, no way an NBA player can be that free of creativity, oh wait did someone say, Kevin Durant??? Rafer Sebastian Telfar Alston AKA Hot Sauce eat your heart out!!! <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DBsLxqH-0bQ?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DBsLxqH-0bQ?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Lowry and Dragic. They played against each other in practice, and played together in NBA games when it counted. Lin and Douglas simply don't have the time together to make it a fair contest, even if someone thought their skills were up to the task.
Some of you guys do not understand that even though they are playing street ball - they can still play help defense, run pick and rolls, set screens etc... These guys have been playing professional structured basketball all for majority of their lives - I will take them over any team of street ball players. I'll take a lineup of Lowry Battier Johnson Bosh and Stoudemire over all the street ball legends *skip to my lou, the professor, alimoe, hot sauce, escalade, etc...* in a street ball match. NBA players could embarrass street ball players if they decide to play hard defense and play like they know how to. I'm a big Rafer Alston fan, skip to my lou, but honestly even in street ball if the NBA player like Lowry was set on shutting him down and scoring on him... he would fair really well against Skip to my Lou. The professor was an average college player but is an and-one legend. Most of those fancy moves doesn't work on technical basketball players.
The hell kind of question is this? Lowry/Dragic vs Lin/Douglas How about: Lin/Dragic vs Lowry/Douglas or Lin/Lowry vs Dragic/Douglas You have 3 good point guards and one garbage point guard. Every team with Douglas on it is going to lose, obviously.
I voted Lin/Douglas. Lowry and Dragic are good, but have you noticed that it was never at the same time? This is because they are under a voodoo curse where if one of them plays well, the other starts sucking or gets injured. In this theoretical 2on2 game, the voodoo curse would be in effect and one or the other of Lowry/Dragic would be suffering from injury/suckage/emotional turmoil and Lin and Douglas would steamroll over the other guy. Any attempt to counter-curse Lin would of course be stopped by Jesus. Lin/Douglas/Jesus over Lowry/Dragic, and it's not even close.
What makes you think Douglas is garbage?? According to some here, Douglas would kill in Street Ball...
Okay again, check the thread title. Setting screens in a 2on2 game? I think too many people here didn't even read that this is about a 20n2 street game and transfer it to an NBA game or 5on5.
I'm with you, you make good points... I do believe though that even the average nba player playing 2 on 2 would win against the best paired street ballers only because of the training they go through/ blood/sweat/sacrifice and nothing taken away from streetballers (if you can play the game/ you got game)... An average NBA player got stamina like a mofo so they can withstand anything thrown at them on the blacktops...
From your original post that I quoted, I thought you were referring to a 5 on 5 street ball like they always play on AND-1. Regardless, my point is still valid. Any NBA players with decent defense and offense should be able to shut down any AND-1 legend out there. It's ridiculous to compare NBA players to Street Ball players with Rafer being the exception since he was an decent NBA player. That's all i'm saying.
