like other people said, this site is about the rockets, and the rockets have more fans around the world than the texans.

people that only care about basketball, only go to the GARM and the Dish, they dont even care for the other forums of the site.
a lot of people only care about the rockets, and not about football, or they are fans of other teams, because they are from other cities in the US, so they root for the rockets in basketball, but the root for their city in football.

check out texanstalk, the biggest texans forum, and you dont see rockets talk, or only a few threads, go to patriots forums, and the celtics forum in there, doesnt get the same traffic than the main pats forum.

almost nobody would go to a rockets forum to check out texans info.
you dont think, Im going to mavstalk to get the latest news about the cowboys, or Im going to patriots forum to check the celtics latest news.

I'm exactly like this. Maybe it's because I didn't start watching football until after high school and I grew up watching the Rockets since I could remember. Basketball, especially Rockets basketball is my one true sports love.

I'm a far bigger Texans fan now than I am Rockets. I think that goes along with the fact that as leagues I'm more interested in NFL games than NBA.

Anyways, I love this section of the forum. Would really love it even more if we had a Texans Dark theme or had the ability to switch it back to dark like the other forums. My eyes hurt :)

I don't remember the last time I posted anything on the GARM. All Texans/Astros and Hangout for me.

Because Rick Smith is never involved in trade rumors.

Gotta say, I really enjoy this forum. There is a lot less BS in here, just real fans talking about the team they love. Most of us have followed the Texans from day one, so now more than ever there is much anticipation and plenty to talk about. Keep it coming fellas, it's been a great ride.

I don't mean to knock the other forums, it just gets a little crazy in the garm with so many trolls or POF's. That said I can definitely deal with all that and am very appreciative Clutch has given us this gift and continues to work hard making this the best forum going.

I'd probably give it a chance, but the perpetual "Moved" links on the GARM that link to the sub-forum irk me for whatever reason. Like people are accidently starting Texans topics on the GARM and mods are always having to move them.

I second this. I hope all real fans,, not just those that visit this forum, but every fan embraces the fact we have a badass team that we can truly enjoy and support..with cool character types as well abound. It's exciting as whatever, and after so many years we know it doesn't happen all the time..

A much more apt venture into my interest in starting this thread.

Thanks to everyone for dropping some thoughts.

Clutchfans has a much bigger member pool to get views from. When its a Texans home game, CF really wins, because all the season holders at TexansTalk are at the game. There is great Texans discussion here, but TT is better for that. I enjoy both.

Clutchfans is probably the most well rounded bbs for the home teams. Good luck in getting a good Rockets discussion in TT.

TT has more knowledgeable posters regarding the Texans, that's why I frequent there. Honestly the real reason I love clutch fans is all the behind the scenes coverage clutch gets and the various scrimmage and preseason videos. It's also a very fast way to get news regarding trades. I could make due without the r****ded lin and tmac threads though.

It's unfair to compare a Target to a Super Target.

I've been around (except for maybe not to any Astro boards) but this is about right.

Let's not forget that it didn't always use to be like this at CF. At TT, Rockets talk was better and more active when the team was better and making the playoffs.

Fact though is, more Texan fans are posting here than on forums that are specifically dedicated to the team. So it throws the theory that the population here is low completely out the window.

Well actually, most of the post game talk goes on in the gameday thread here. At TT, once the game is over, multiple new threads are created and older ones bumped. Some still goes on in the gameday thread, but not much.

I prefer to discuss it here!

The official Texans site's boards are just insufferable. I haven't been in a couple of years, but I imagine there's still a "TRADE MATT SCHAUB FOR VINCE YOUNG" thread sputtering around over there... among other stupid and/or knee-jerk threads.

The boards at TexansTalk are okay and most of the members are knowledgeable... but when I've gone there over the years, I felt like I was transported into a room of cranky middle-aged truck-driving white male suburbanites whose highest form of comedy consisted of politically charged comments. For example: "Why is our special teams so damn awful?! I haven't seen such bad leadership since NOBAMA!" Hurr hurr hurr. Okay, I made that up that quote, but I think it's pretty representative.

    Anyway, I like it here.
