I was wondering what you guys think the Rockets will stand by the time the season ends. I predict 10th seed.

I'd be shocked if we did any better than 10th seed. There isn't a single team in the west than I can't see potentially finishing ahead of Houston. No way we'll be better than San Antonio, Dallas, Memphis, Denver, OKC, LAC or LAL. Of the remaining 7 teams, I'd imagine we finish middle of the pack or lower. 12th or 13th seed is my pick.

positioning and what is hard to predict. But out of the 7 teams you mentioned, I do believe Houston does have a chance to win a 7 game series against all of them except OKC. I wouldn't bet on it, but I would not be surprised at all.

No. If your think we could beat the Lakers, the little faith I had in this fanbase is completely dead.

We're around 13th-14th. I think we'll tank the second half of the year, after dumping Martin and playing the rooks more.

i thought 14-15 a couple months ago with Hornets being the other contender for the last spot. And so far i've no reason to change my mind. Every player looks about how I expected so far.

How can anyone believe we will be one of the top two teams in the West?

I know we're undefeated in pre-season and all, but really.

well, not everyone follows the NBA closely.
It reminds me of one post-Lin facebook comment on the NY Knicks page.

11-12 sounds about right to me.

Those who are more optimistic...I just can't be because I think a lot of teams in the west are better than us.

The other teams that are usually below us like the Warriors or Twolves...could very easily turn into a team on the rise.

Dallas is the team in danger of dropping out completely. Dirk just drained his knee twice before the seasons has even started. Also, for the life of me I can't figure out why a team like Denver will be head and shoulders above us. We can easily squeeze in the 6-8 spot.

News flash, the Rockets are a team on the rise. :)

Denver is much better. Have you seen their team? They will be competing for HCA in the first round, they are one of the deepest teams in the NBA and just added Andre Iguodala.

Any ways i'll break this down.

Teams DEFINITELY better than the Rockets

    Nuggets
    Thunder
    Clippers
    Lakers
    Grizzlies
    Spurs

That is 6 teams right there, 6 teams IMO that are a lock for the playoffs this year barring major injuries to multiple key players.

Lots of players have minor surgeries in the off-season, if the Mavs have Dirk then they go onto that list of teams definitely better than the Rockets.

Blazers- tanked the year last year. They traded away vets, did various things to drop games. I think they could be worse than the Rockets, but they have a bonafide all-star player and we do not. In close games this ALWAYS matter.

    Juck the Fazz.

Twolves- A team on the rise. Were definitely a team on the rise until Rubio got hurt. They did not take a step back, they added Kirilenko which is a big add IMO. He's still in great shape and simply spent last season playing ball overseas.

Warriors- With Curry and Bogut could be a team on the rise. We'll see if those two can remain healthy though.

Suns- I'd like to think they will be better this year but I think they have committed themselves to being mediocre. But this year I think they are better than the Rockets.

Kings- One of the teams the Rockets should finish ahead of.

Hornets- Another team we should finish ahead of.

We look good in preseason at least.
