Omer needs to pass less, imo. Keep the ball, get fouled like most big men then clank your free throws we don't need another 14th pick.
Get battered in the post the as much as possible and shorten your career due to injury like most big men as well? No thanks
he has shown some chemistry with Taj Gibson with the passing game for most of his stay with us. Of course all Bull fans see are the hands issue
My 2 cents: There will ever only be one Big O, and he certainly wasn't a 7 foot turkish center. Can we please come up with a different nickname? Anyway, I agree. Omer has really surprised me with his passing. Sometimes has butterfingers, but otherwise he has really impressed. Dunks the ball like a man, commands the boards and plays great defense! Great pick-up. Could be a top-10 center in the league at the end of the season! (Or is that a sign of the weak centers we have?)
IMO, Asik' main "offensive" problem in Chicago is that he has never had a real PG who could get him the ball down low. I meant how many minutes exactly did he spend with Rose, considering he only played 15 mpg off the bench and Rose's a starter? Even Rose's more of a scorer than a passer (not that that's any wrong in his game mind you).
Is this a random trade thread? OK, just kidding - - but maybe the gent is more than just a 15-mpg D presence. Oh, I hope...
He missed that dunk last night though. Maybe it was a no look, off the back of the rim, alley oop pass to Terrence Jones?
Omer dominated the defensive side of the floor. His offense is a work in progress. But he flat dominate the defensive paint. This team will go as far as Omer and Lin take them. Don't be surprised if we are actually above .500 at the end of the season.
Omer's offense has actually been a huge surprise to me. His hands may be a bit bobbly at times as advertised, but his passing means he has the ability to fit seamlessly within an offensive system, as opposed to many other offensively challenged big men who are a sore thumb sticking out. He may not have a post game, but he will have plenty of responsibility on offense. Finish open looks, offensive rebound, set picks, passing. Chuck Hayes made a living doing that on offense and was invaluable for us. On defense Omer will be a DPOY candidate. Thibs didn't lie.
