I wish Sony would get it and make the Xperia Nexus. Would be the only true android competitor to the iPhone in term of build quality and aesthetics.
I'm disappointed with the choice to use LG this round. Would've rather seen another Samsung. That said, it looks really nice. I'd like to know more about its specs and construction. Oh, and that screen looks BAD ASS.
Still a chance there are other Nexus phones, possibly Samsung and maybe HTC or Motorola. Really wanted to see HTC make one. Rumor is that the announcement for this LG is October 29th.
Let's hope LG turns the corner with this phone and becomes a legit 3rd competitor in the current Samsung vs. Apple war. I don't have much hope for HTC or Motorola right now. IMF, it would be nice if the multiple Nexus phone rumor is true. Consumers win.
As an owner of a LG Phone, I'm disappointed by their inability to update their OS. I own a G2X and it took them over a year to port gingerbread from froyo and they have no intention of porting over ICS. The phone is a year old and they go back and forth blaming nVidia for why the can't release ICS and nVidia blamed LG. T-Mobile blames LG. LG Blames T-Mobile. It's a ferris wheel of blame. I know that won't be a problem with Nexus but still I'm disappointed in LG.
I'm glad its not a Samsung. The current Nexus is plasticky with a subpar screen, camera, and battery.
I see people saying stuff like this online all the time, but every person I've met that owns a Galaxy Nexus LOVES it. My dad included.
I love my galaxy nexus why do people say this stuff. Though the battery life could be improved but I am 99.99999 satisfied ever since the jellybean upgrade
I actually own a Nexus and love it as well, but I love it because it has pure android. Its really not that bad, but lots of other phones just have superior hardware. I was actually going to keep it a long time (I don't need to have the latest and greatest) but I dropped it and cracked the screen, so I'll probably get the LG, as long as it works with tmobiles HSPA+.
Wow, looks like there just might be a Sony Nexus X. http://techcrunch.com/2012/10/15/sony-nexus-x-rumor/ But apparently they're photoshops according to AndroidandMe. http://androidandme.com/2012/10/smartphones-2/did-the-sony-nexus-x-just-leak-out/
Battery life is definitely the only thing I don't like about the current Nexus. I know that you can flash a ROM on top to fix it but i like to keep it stock. I only play around with the other stuff on the N7. I wouldn't be so worried about software updates if it's a Nexus device from LG. I'd just worry if it has to go through a carrier like Verizon. I like the specs thus far rumored on the LG version except for the 8gb storage. That's probably not going to stick though. (i hope). Also it'll be hard to give up LTE and go back to GSM as well. I'm really curious to see which US carriers it will be compatible with. That Sony picture is a photoshop from what I've read.
The LG one sounds great, but I don't really like LG (last LG phone I had, albeit not a smart phone, I had more problems with than any phone ive ever had) and the non-removable battery is killer (why in the world would you do that?). I got an extended battery on my phone, and while it makes it quite a bit bulkier, it's very nice not having to worry about charging very often at all. I'll still probably get it though, unless I just find a killer deal on the SIII
Oct. 29th it is. http://www.theverge.com/2012/10/17/3519032/google-android-event-oct-29-announcement Will be streamed live at http://www.youtube.com/android at 9 AM CST on Oct 29th.
I was about to pull the trigger on a Galaxy Nexus until I read this thread. I've done some homework and am now indecisive. Should I: Buy the Nexus Galaxy, Wait for the Galaxy SIII to drop on Black Friday, or Wait for the Windows 8 phone announcement (I've been intrigued after playing with a Lumia). I don't really care for an LG Nexus.
