Lol.. I like this excerpt: "Nick Fairley is a character, but he's not of high character. He's something of a dirty player, a cheap-shot artist who is apt to literally kick an opponent when he's down. Fairley may not always say "Yes Sir" to his coaches. He'd bring some challenges to say the least. But, he's also the most dominant defensive player available. Fairley — not do-everything quarterback Cam Newton — controlled the national championship game for Auburn. He disrupts offenses the way that Charlie Sheen disrupts hotel rooms. Yes, he's also nasty, mean and hard for coaches to completely rein in. Sounds like exactly what the do-good Texans need. Sounds like some of the best defensive players in NFL history." And now one a year later. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/8485420/unnamed-gm-rip-job-fires-detroit-lions-dominic-raiola "Another anonymous executive said the Lions' problems stem from drafting a lot of "issue guys" such as Nick Fairley, who was arrested twice this past offseason, and the lack of leadership on the team is reflected in their poor start."
looks like JJ Watt no longer leads the league in sacks John McClain @McClain_on_NFL #J.J. Watt no longer leads the NFL n sacks. Elias Sports Bureau says a Watt sack against Miami was actually a run, leaving him with 7.5.
I still think he sacked Sanchez twice. The first was the one where Sanchez threw the ball while be tackled by JJ. In the replay it looked like he was sitting on JJ, and was on the way down, and he threw it.
Good article about Watt on Deadspin: http://deadspin.com/5950222/how-the...ineman-is-changing-the-way-the-game-is-played
Seriously, that was intentional grounding to the T. There wasn't anybody but offensive lineman anywhere near that ball. I was pissed that they didn't throw the flag there.
JJ has been getting too much pub. He had nothing to piss him off. The Texans maneuvered this one to keep the chip on his shoulder. He will now show the league that he deserves more sacks than they can ever take away!
Did anyone catch them talking about his vertical leap on Monday night? 37 inches! Holy crap! That is insane.
you want insane? <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/P0gsgyY_QW0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Here it is the video, it looks like a sack, Tannehill tripped and fell, then Watt just covered him, but Watt had to cover him, because Tannehill could have go up and throw the pass. http://www.nfl.com/videos/auto/0ap1000000060695/Texans-defense-sack-3-yd-loss
Yea i agree technically it is not a sack...buuut tannehill could have still flicked the ball back or if given time, he could have techincally gotten up and continued to play. So the play was not dead until watt touched him down. whatever hopefully this serves as motivation for watt as he goes up against the current sack leaders team. rodgers is the second most sacked player in the league.
for some reason watt reminds me of "vanilla thunder" ie. marshall ericksen. I guess it's the mid west connection. Thanks for posting that article from deadspin, "white lightning". =)
