I'm no pro athlete, much less a Brian Cushing... But I've torn an ACL. They used a piece of my hamstring to rebuild the ligament in my knee. I'm utterly amazed when I see guys coming back in less than a year. Either medicine has come along a LOT since the mid 2000's or those guys are just absolute freaks. Probably both.
Seeing that picture, that **** drives me crazy! I hope that b**** ass Slauson gets a hefty fine and goes to hell for that! Way to ruin our SuperBowl hopes and us being the Top defensive team in the league. What a b****!
it was the only example I could think of that would accurately portray how sad Cushing's injury makes me.
If Watt didnt play yesterday, we would have lost by at least one touchdown. He had a tip that was intercepted and set us up for a FG. Had the Jets scored a TD there, then that's a 10 point turnaround. Lets say they would have kicked a FG. Basically, 6 point difference there. Watt had a sack that pushed them out of FG range. Another 3 points saved. Watt had a tip that would have been a for sure TD...instead, they got a FG. 4 points saved. That right there saved the Texans 13-17 points. You cant possibly have more impact on a game than what Watt showed last night.
Gosh, more dumb comments like these really hurt... REALLY REALLY HURT. At first I was like But then I
A little off topic of Cushing who is essentially irreplaceable (maybe Dick Butkus), but I totally agree that I have NEVER seen a defensive lineman impact games like Watt. It is almost surreal. He keeps doing it! I have seen many great ones play, but nothing like this EVERY game. If this lasts, he will be DPY, All Pro, and whatever other reward they can give him. Now back to Cushing; it almost feels like some of our players may have a "bounty" on them. It happened in NO, maybe some teams think they won't get caught. I really had suspicions about the Haynsworth incident with Schaub.
Will the league even punish him? Or let him get by? It was so unnecessary for him to do that when the damn ball wasn't even close to him!
This can't be stated enough times, the league needs to suspend players who engage in dirty hits, not fine, suspend. Suspend
Not just suspended but his ass beat also. On the bright side... Houston Texans still #1 on this week 6 Power Rankings..
Again. Losing Cushing hurts but he's not critical to this teams success. We'll see how it plays out during the year. I was correct last season stating that losing Mario would not hurt much, and as well as stating that the Texans season was over when we lost Schaub.
What is this based off of? Mario and Cushing are different. The thing about Cushing is that he's really effective at his position for both the pass and rush defense. You can't compare losing Mario to losing Cushing because losing Cushing hurts this defense more.
I know you what to be optimistic but Losing Cushing is akin to losing J Joe at this point. The middle of the field is officially open. James? Sucks.
That was 100% intentional. It reminds me of the time when Tim Thomas crashed into Yao's knee, but that one could be explained as Thomas diving for the ball. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/W652mwCXyBs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> @ 4 seconds you see Cushing beat Slauson and get past him. At 5 seconds, Slauson reacts by diving helmet first into Cushing's knee while he is not facing him. YOU CLEARLY SEE HE IS IN FULL CONTROL WHILE FACING CUSHING RIGHT BEFORE ATTACKING HIM. This screams dirty play and it was intentional. Slauson got up afterwards, looked at Cuching grabbing his knee, and he just walked away like he did his job. He did not go back to make sure he was okay.
I get that it's a big blow and it's sad that we lost a great player, but dudes are crying over this? Really? No wait, really? Priorities, man. Even if we lost the NBA Finals on a half-court buzzer beater in Game 7 at home to a combination of Karl Malone, Jason Terry, John Stockton, Shawn Kemp, and Dirk Nowitzki (at their respective primes), I still wouldn't cry. But that's just me.
