We can get by without Cushing. It's not like losing Schaub, Watt, or JJ.

We can "get by" yes, but this really hurts our run defense which was already looking a little shaky.

Yeah, it's lot like we lost our defensive Captain and leader AMIRITE!?!?!?!?

Dobbins has a chance to show why he wears a C on his uni.

We gotta go get a LB somehow. Trade a second for the right player.

I'm not happy we lost Cushing...it sucks....but I think it would be far worse if we lost Arian, Matt, or JJ.

It does hurt, because in the playoffs we need to stop the run. However, we have solid players to rotate in depending on whether it is a pass or running down. I think the defense overall will continue to improve as the season progresses.

We'll be ok in that department. Watt and Smith are leaders. Like I just mentioned, Dobbins is a captain. Guys like Manning and Joseph are also vocal.

On a brighter note, Kareem Jackson looks mad legit.

Matt and Arian, yes. JJ, no. While he is a super beast, we have depth at the DE spot, especially pass rushers. The dropoff from Cushing is going to be substantial. We are very vulnerable to the run now.

Yeah, moving an OLB to Cushing's spot would be a HORRIBLE idea.

OLB's and ILB's are not interchangeable in Wade's defense. Not even close, actually.

You really don't get how much Cushing means to the defense. You can't just replace a leader like that. Not to mention... his replacement won't be half the player he is which will hurt our defense severely.

This is the only thing on tv/film that ever made me cry and I'm fine with admitting it. I don't like seeing it to this day. Day now ruined.

We are not seeing him play again this season. Hopefully he'll be ready by next training camp. :(

I'm no doctor, but I think it depends on if they use a cadaver tendon (from a donor body) or one of your own. You usually hear anywhere from 6-9 months recovery time, sometimes more. If the Texans make the Superbowl, it would be a miracle for Cush to be ready by then. Even if he is somehow healed in 3 months (not having surgery until end of this month according to Kubiak), it's up to the coaching staff to decide if he could go out there and compete after a major surgery and missing so much time.

In summary: He's done for this year, including playoffs.

I'm being completely serious when I tell you that I don't believe the Texans would have beaten the Jets last night without J.J. Watt. I have never seen a defensive lineman impact game after game the way that guy is doing right now. If we lost J.J., I'd be far more disappointed than I am with losing Cushing right now.
