They also lost Ryan Grant early too, fresh off a 1200 yard season.

Looking forward, he only has the 13-14 season left on contract. I wonder where that leads to if next season is spent like Demeco's last one here, good enough to see the field but still recovering. The AP reference is heartening, the guy went from no-contract drills in preseason to full workload in week 1. There's some players you just never bet against, and Cushing could be one of those guys.

Im hoping kubiak grows a pair and calls out the nfl in today's press confrence. If ray lewis had been injured like that all hell would have broke loose. I'm hoping it isn't significant and cush can have a good recovery like peterson, but damn im hoping wade gets creative with some of our skill players and maybe experiments with whitney or barwin a bit at that position.

Lets just hope it's not too bad, he has a very good rehab, and makes it back for the conf finals and superbowl!

It sucks to see Cush go down, but please explain how or why Wade would move converted DE's to ILB. I mean - I guess it could happen, but it makes no sense to me. (Please don't do that Wade... Not that I think you would.) I'm not sure that everyone here understands the role that Cush plays in the defense. He was EVERYWHERE. That won't be easy to replace.

Here's to Dobbins stepping up and Sharpton making a succesful comeback. Weakness at ILB cannot be hidden and will be exploited. It was only a matter of time before injuries hit, and IMO this is one that the team can survive.

With that being said, the Texas are 5-0 and JJ Watt is looking really Reggie White-ish. Still fills good.

That's because the paragons of reasonableness known as the ESPN article commenters don't know the difference between a legit cut block (face up, in the box, against an un-engaged defender) vs. an illegal one like that which took out Cushing.

It is illegal to clip at or below the knees.

He came at him from slightly behind, and directly at the knee.

    Dirty, cheap, and illegal.

Not a fan of the 713 kid, but if it's true Cushing needs total recontructive surgery, he is probably right...

He will have the best in the business performing the surgery. Guys like Cush and AD heal better than most.
