Hey, just figured I would start a thread where we can post about all the non-rockets pre-season games. 7th October: - Anthony Davis will make his debut today, 2:30 PM standard time. Will be fun to watch! Celtics is underway and Lee just had a nice dunk, saw it on the highlights If you feel like sharing your thoughts or discussing the games, go ahead
Anthony Davis looked okay in his debut, I think using him at PF is not good because he's a post player and Lopez is terrible at it. He had some nice blocks and his height alone, long freaking arms, is such an advantage but he's still a work in progress especially if the Hornets insist on using him at PF.
Feelin the same, he has to play C to embrace the role as an anchor for his team. Opposing PFs will draw him away from the paint and take away his presence in the post.

Just watched the Warriors vs. Lakers and I already thought like many that Golden State was going to be good and this first game confirms everything. Barnes looked really good, under control, definitely could win ROY. Ezeli looked good as well but the shooters in Thompson & Rush, combined with the finesse and veteran leaders in Jefferson & Lee + getting Curry & Bogut back healthy, they will make some noise. The Lakers bench looked pretty bad and couldn't get anything going, they had a 35-0 run against them, must be the biggest ever! They didn't score for a good 8 to 14 minutes. Nash was smooth as hell of course and I was very suprised with Artest, the guy has lost 20 pounds and looked very good. Their starting line up is probably best in the league but I'm not sure they can win it all with a bench like that.
Mike Brown may be an idiot, but even an idiot can see that out of the players playing in the second half, 80% will be cut/ sent to the D-league. Bench will probably end up being Blake/CDR/ Jamison/ Hill/ and Sacre. Everyone else, besides Ebanks, will get cut. As for the 35-0 run, all I can say is this: Chris Duhon. Lakers probably need to mix up their rotation at times so that one of Kobe/Pau/Nash is on the floor with the second unit, because there's nobody in it that can really shoulder an offense (ie drive, create shots, demand doubles etc), and I don't see Mike Brown being able to run a smooth offense. All this is just based on one game though. Wednesday should be even more interesting.
Any recommendations for other pre seasons games to watch for league pass holder? i'm busy right now but would like to watch some good ones. right now i'm planning to watch lakers vs warriors just bcos curious how kobe works with nash
Who's watchin Dallas-Barcelona right now? 59-49 for Barca right now, makes me wonder what record they'd have in the NBA. Great teamwork and individual skills, really smart basketball. Europe is catchin up talent-wise.
I'm sure Barca is a talented club, and this isn't to knock on the Euroleague- but I have a feeling the Mavs aren't playing this game at full intensity. I do think a top level euroleague team would be better than some of our worse teams though.
I have a feeling Mirotic might actually become a Morey trade target in the next couple of years if he can steal him away for nothing. I think the Rockets passed on him mainly because of his contract that runs till 2016. If he didn't have that contract issue he would have been drafted much higher.
The only nice one so far was Warriors - Lakers, stay away from Hornets - Magic. Davis didn't so much, no commentary and just a low scoring affair. I am going to watch Cats vs. Hornets today, should be a good one based on the boxscore.
^^ There were lots of good games man, especially Barca-Dallas if you want to see how team-oriented Euro ball works. Beautiful teamplay.
