He was right, I was satirizing the android hater post. What's funny is that you chose my post to call out fan boyism yet ignored the obvious first go at it. Maybe because you didn't mind because it was an apple fanboy slamming android. Obvious hypocrite is hypocritical. Lol

I have the iPhone 5 on sprint. In school, which is close to downtown the LTE is real fast. You can easily tell the difference from 3G. The problem I have had is that I live in northwest Houston and in some places it switches to 3G.

Hmmm so basically around Houston would you say your on LTE about 50% of the time? No specific area just going around Houston.

After spending a few days with it, the jump from the 4 is impressive. Speed and performance increases pretty much across the board, it's pretty clear that Apple has optimized the new A6 to get the most of almost every function. It's most noticeable in anything having to do with the camera, significant increases there.

LTE is of course LTE, and I've been pretty pleased with the coverage in the Houston area for AT&T (probably the first time I'll ever really be happy with anything having to do with AT&T).

Combined with how light this thing is and the better screen (better colors, looks very crisp, much sharper) and it is a considerable upgrade from the 4.

Obviously Maps needs work, though the two times I've used turn by turn there were no problems, and there are a few bugs with the App Store that need fixing. I do like some of the functional changes when it comes to buying and downloading apps though.

looking forward to more of the apps getting updated.

Agree with this. The screen resolution and brightness is excellent, and the finish is really nice. Also, much lighter than I expected

Can't comment on the LTE performance since Sprint has no LTE in San Fran.

Something that popped up today that relates to the improvement I'm noticing in the screen. One of the guys who does monitor reviews/analysis at Anandtech ran tests on the display panel:

Apple's CEO says you should install Bing maps :)
    ---------------------------------------------------
    http://www.apple.com/letter-from-tim-cook-on-maps/

    To our customers,

At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.

We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.

There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.

While we’re improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.

Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.

    Tim Cook
    Apple’s CEO

He never said "install Bing maps"... you don't install a shortcut to a webpage in Safari... he did say, however, that the more people keep using Maps the "better it will get"?

I wished my peepee was this way... no help from anywhere, just gets better with usage. :(

So there's not a Bing app for iOS? It's weird that he would tell someone to "download" a webpage shortcut.

"try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app."

That implies that Bing, MapQuest, and Waze are apps....not shortcuts.

    Hey, lookey there: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bing/id345323231?mt=8

Don't know if they're in an App form and I've never looked for them, but he specifically says to "use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app", which is what I did. I have maps.google.com on my main screen for clearer traffic display, but I still have to click "OK" to allow them to find my location and also click layers, then traffic to display them.

And before that he specifically says "downloading map apps from the app store like Bing" which is what I was talking about :) . I never said anything about Google or Nokia.

Just ordered a 5 since work decided to basically stop allowing Androids.

    Hope it doesn't disappoint.

They told us to ship to the office because people have been complaining of theft of the package from the front door!

bing and the web versions of google are extremely slow and cumbersome to use.

before when i got lost on a route i was following or something..i would just click edit, and hit route again..and it would start the directions from my current location..

Haha, Harrisment... I know what you said.

I can clearly note with my eyes the thing you created at that place.
I've made some pit stops along my way on some routes, and Siri says "rerouting" without me tapping any buttons. I like that.

Anyone been using their iPhone 5 with Sprint and can comment on the LTE coverage in Houston?

3G is terrible, but with LTE rolling out in Houston and getting better, I'll go with them over ATT since it is unlimited depending on other people's experiences. Also, for the Non-LTE users of Sprint, how are the speeds on 3g? Tolerable?
