Why dont you go to some place like Cash America or another check cashing /loan place...400 is not a lot. I am sure they will give it to you and you can make payments.

My offer still stands. You can click on my user name and email me from there. I felt really awkward after I posted my cell number earlier. I'm glad your pup isn't suffering right now and you're doing everything you can to help.

Oh man. Please don't do that. You'll be paying off the interest for the rest of your life.

I hope it works out. Rooting for you.

Too bad there are no Dexter's on the BBS who could do the amputation for free. :)

This thread took a total 180. It was so depressing and then it seems to have a happy ending. I hope your dog makes it out well.

Ok, I really hope you'll not take this as a personal attack, but if you can't afford medical care for your pet, you should really consider whether or not you should have a pet at all.

Pets are not cheap. Much like having human children, it's not just the expense of food, bedding, toys, etc. You have to be ready to provide for their needs in an emergency.

I sincerely hope you find a solution for your current troubles, as I know you mean well. Best of luck!

Honestly if I were you I would look for a no-kill shelter that has vacancy in Houston and give your dog up. You seem to be in a situation right now where you cannot take care of your dog. It is not just about $400 for the surgery, you also have to realize that there are going to be so many other fees for Meds and Future care. If you cant come up with $400 and are on minimum wage (and paying for your mom's bills) how do you expect to take care of your dog's future fees?

This is coming from a dog owner, I think you should be more realistic with your situation and make a responsible decision for both you and your dog.

I know it's probably quite a drive, but Dr. Huber in League City is an awesome vet, cares about the animals and is usually really good about payments.

I hope it works out for you.

A little late now, but when you needed money you could've tried a pawn shop.

Hmm. I guess we should draw the conclusion it did not have a good outcome.

Sorry for your loss (if that's the case).

If the dog is recovering, then you should let us know how it is going because you started this thread and left a cliffhanger.
