I'd think that KC offense is like our 2010 defense. Playmakers, but crap level production out of very key positions and a flummoxed coordinator. Charlie Weis had it right. You got a stout line and a potential top 5 back, you run. An adequate OC ( jury's still out on Daboll from Miami) and Qb are a lot to ask for in an offseason, but even one of those two allows them to contend in the AFC west.
Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are the mainstays... but they've gone through quite a bit of turnover, and different coordinators, and remain elite. The Texans have a few good cornerstones in place (Cushing, Watt, Reed, J-Joseph)... and this could give them the oppourtnity to build around the defense no matter who is the coordinator.
Understandably wants another shot, can't blame him. Nothing wrong with staying here either. Embrace the Dick LeBeau role! Easier said than done, ha.
He was also Buffalo's head coach already... which would make him a retread hire (alhough it would be better than what the Bills currently have).
Winston had a mora rant about the fans cheering when cassel got hurt. Wade doesn't want that mess... I hope
This was my biggest fear about the texans when Phillips gets another shot. Kubiak and smith just can't evaluate defensive coaches (bush, smith). if I'm McNair I write a blank check to wade and say how much do you want. I've seen the texans defense with really bad DCs and I don't want to go down that road again. If wade leaves promote our DB coach.
Can the man, even at 65, not accept his lot in life? The dude is a phenomenal defensive coordinator. One of the best there is. He is not a good head coach by any measure.
