I would never be able to look my teammates in the eye after pulling something like that. I also hope Royce won't take all the media criticism personally. It seems he can really let himself become bitter over what others say about him. I hope he grows some thicker skin.

    Great post.

I guess this is the thing about this generation. Okay I am old, and people my age would agree with me. We don't understand this generation just like our dads didn't understand ours.

In our time, if I got a problem, I toughed it out and made do with what I had. Now the kids are like this. If a guy gets a problem, people are supposed to try their best to alleviate his problem. If they don't, he complains about it on blogs, facebook, twitters and whatnot, to let the whole world know that people don't care and don't understand.

Nice, so we got "Ron Artest", Arian Foster and Terrence Williams all in one now

In my time (60's/70's) you had little outlet/options for making what you feel known to others, much less the world at large. Sometimes I wonder if its not so much this generation being different (as people) but more the world that they grew up in and have made their own. Some of us (older folks) live in the past to an extent.

I don't know. I'm an 80s kid and most of mycolleagues that are around my age are a bit weirded out by society nowadays. There does seem to be a bit more victimhood and blame game in people, but whether it's a product of current society or it's always been there and just becoming louder is something I personally don't know.

Aaaand I think it's safe to say we're getting off topic.

Yeah no joke dude is one of the biggest headcases I've ever seen.

I kind of want to root for him, and I feel as though the Rockets need him to step up in a big way in order to be successful this season but the guy is making thing unnecessarily hard for himself and people who have invested so much into him.

Primadonna emo-kid. Woe is me, feel sorry for me world!

Well the irony is, since we are bombarded with all these complaints all over the place, we don't care as much anymore.

In the past, a guy with mental disability succeeding to make the NBA would have been a great inspiring story. Now, we are flooded with this and that disorder and depression and illness and abuse, we are numb and don't have as much empathy.

I think giving context to White's situation by placing it in a hypothetical past could be helpful. Like Easy said, this may have been an inspiring story in some past time. The information age changes things. Makes more known than some would like. Lends itself to hearsay and speculation to the point where one can become unsure what the facts are, much less whether the world at large needed to know to begin with.

Probably so. There's just going to be the co-existing clash of old and young ideals together, until the old dies off.

I say there's absolutely a difference in culture even compared to late 90s

There isnt that much of the "stiff upper lip" now, its about public receptiveness of the issues putting them out there cuz "suppressing" them is worse.

Yep. Just look at all the tattoos. Walking billboards. People wearing their life events on their sleeve, literally.

Whats supposed to be meaningful becomes attention seeking. But I won't play too much more amateur socioligist on things. Royce White didnt handle this right. He's got plenty time for advocacy. He's only got one first practice.

This dude is the Joker....you folded (Rockets Organization) to a rookie demands...The Rockets and Daryl Morey look real bad. Morey could lose his job over this whole ordeal. Like I stated when I was getting roasted by you guys earlier. He is using this anxiety as a crunch to get what he wants....he wants everybody to think he is a victim...but in all he was the one holding the Rockets hostage but what do I know I need to be more understanding. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! All he doing is tweeting when he needs to be in camp. Morey just sealed his fate

P.S. Its funny how everybody is changing their stance about White

The worst is he does not pan out..... He'll just turn into another TSquid with anxiety issues.
Reasonable expectations would be a good role player.
Expectations were too high as usual here.

I still want to believe in this kid, but he is making it difficult.

Him not being at training camp just made T-Six and D-Mo's minutes sky rocket(wing).. Morris is probably thanking him for this.

He needs to put that AD into a Greyhound already and get to RGV. I dont think McHale calls bluffs.

Two more clips on Rockets.com next week showing White making highlight passes and all you haters will be back talking about White's supremacy.
