It depends if this whole thing was his decision/handling or someone who was advising or advocating for him. It may not fit an anxiety person's profile. But it fits an agent's profile perfectly.

BTW, I am kind of torn whether this should be something to joke about. On the one hand, joking about someone's sickness isn't cool. On the other hand, if Royce has a sense of humor and be lighthearted about the situation, it might actually help his anxiety problem. But whatever, I'm sure the bus jokes are gonna come no matter what.

Have you met Morey in person? He is VERY scary to talk to, very mean to all the players and team employees. :p

I feel he made his commitment when he signed. The no-show was a sign of his inability handle things, imo. I will agree that what he says is better than my speculation, surely. As far as what he says will be helpful is pretty vague at this point. The "less the better" could mean anything. But what it means to me is that any flight is pure terror for him.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but why does it have to be bus? What not a car or van? A bus for essentially one guy?

    This is a disaster

He could have drove to training camp and still make his case. Although the disorder is real, it just seems like it will be used as an excuse for unending drama.

You cannot depend on somebody who may or may not show up for games for whatever reason.

This will be an ongoing distraction and disaster.

A sorry season along with this pick will probably be the nail in the coffin for Morey

    Not yet it isnt

    Yes and maybe

While his early behavior is suspect, his track record has yet to be established

    We will see

    You underestimate Morey's resiliency

So why is he not at camp then? If there's no leverage to gain, he should have driven to camp and participated. People here are saying the Rockets can call and skype with him on the bus, so he won't miss anything. Why can't he be at training camp and call or skype with his doctor from there to figure things out?

I think when your very first action in being a professional is demanding special treatment, it is waaaay more than suspect behavior.

As I said before, the dude could have caught a bus to camp, made his case, and wouldn't have had such an aggravating debut by being with the team.

Sorry, this to me is so obvious in the outcome it's not even funny. Like watching a slow moving train go over a cliff

agree 1 million percent. The only hope now is he comes out and just beasts which I am doubting. he is our spark plug 'off the bus'. Once his bus rolls in we can pull him out 4th quarter during every game willis reed style.. It will be our schtick.. Our move if you will.

He can have faces on his motorcoach like john madden used to, and do corny promotions. I dig. lets make it like tebow and have all kinds of media around it and promote mental health awareness. Let's turn it into the lin asian mental health les alexander pro animals love fest.

Have mental health night and give out promotional straight jackets for 1st thousand fans. yes I am being a jerk but mental health is the last frontier of understanding and I am being insensitive. But dude had all summer and dude missed first day. come on.

The bus is a perfect option and worked for John Madden for many years.

The bus travels overnight while he sleeps and arrives when the rest of the team is there. Logistics can be worked out.

As the NBA travel routine becomes his norm he can increase his flights and reduce the need for the bus. He has demonstrated that he can fly when comfortable.

Not much of a problem and I think if the rockets are truly working to accommodate his condition they are in line for kudos and good PR for it.

It's pretty obvious from a lot of the responses in these Royce threads that a lot more education and understanding is needed regarding mental health issues.
