i appreciate all the words and help... but i decided to have him euphanized... sometimes you cant get over the crutch of being poor... rick, i appreciate it alot, and wish i would have seen your post before i went to the vet and made my decision...
Ignore the insensitivity of this but are you saying "euphanized" by mistake or is there something I missing that using that word is intended to convey?
I'm terribly sorry about your loss. If only I could have seen this thread from the beginning. When I didn't hear from you and saw you were logged off, I had a feeling I was too late. I know what it's like to lose a young puppy, and it still hurts when I think about it. A part of me wishes they would stop animal breeding because there are so many animals out there already that need a good home. If you do decide to get another dog, consider rescuing one from a shelter. One of my friends messaged me yesterday asking if I knew anyone looking for a small indoor dog, and I know rocketgirl is currently looking for someone to adopt her foster dog(s). Let me know if you're interested in giving my friend's dog a home. I really do wish you the best.
Not to sound insensitive about the outcome, but how does a puppy that young get into a position to be ran over?
I goto A&M over here and its one of the few vet schools in texas. They do stuff like this all the time for cheap. Who is the b*stard that ran your dog over? What kind of dog is he and should he have been outdoors?
Same question here, sounds like he left the puppy outside and had no fence and a street nearby? Or garden door open?
He got ran over sometime early this morning, maybe last night... he was a young pitbull puppy, not agressive but extremely playful and great with kids... i had him in a(poorly designed now that this happened) fenced dog area... he somehow got out i havent neccasirally checked how yet... And rick i truely do appreciate it, maybe ill consider another dog soon, but as of now i jus wanna wait...
Sorry for your loss: answered before I saw whole thread. I'll leave it up in case anyone else needs it. You can apply for Care Credit though some vets in town. http://www.carecredit.com/ I know VCA Animal Hospital takes it. http://www.vcahospitals.com/ Emergency care. http://www.gcvs.com/ Had to deal with my dog having stomach cancer earlier this year and had to get it. Just another credit card - you can use for people or pets.
Update: so i couldnt do it... i decided to call and go back up there and get him, told him i found a place for cheap... hes currently under heavy meds and asleep on my couch... im currently textin everybody in my phome for whatever i can get... i jus cant let him die without trying harder...
Call up the Texas A&M Small Animal Clinic and let them know your situation. I took my animal there earlier this year when he was gravely ill (eventually had to put him to sleep), and they are wonderful. They will work with you in terms of cost, and give you many breakdowns of what each scenario will cost. I'm really sorry to hear about your puppy.
Thank you, will do... currently trying to raise 400, actually thinking about going out and pan-handling at walmart or something... im up to about 200-250... its starting to look up as i get paid tomorrow, not much but i should have a little over 300 tomorrow, im just about 100-150 short... i jus feel bad because i dont want the meds to wear off and him be in pain before i get him help...
