Gary Forbes has DIABETES!!!! But he is at camp learning and Jason Friedman an KMart say he is playing exceptionally well....and guess he found a way to deal with his ailment....y'all not crying for him
Diabetes requires monitoring your blood sugar levels and injecting yourself with insulin a couple times a day. Not the same thing. I'm not saying the timing here is great, these are things that could have been worked out ahead of time, but with anxiety, you really don't know what kind of condition you're going to be in weeks in advance. I think everyone should just wait and see how this plays out before jumping to conclusions. Royce needs to take care of his own best interests, his job depends on it.
Every other front office is shaking their right now and saying "I told you so." I mean whatever, its a middling draft pick - doesn't make much of a difference if RW is on the team or not - who knows how many minutes he would have actually played. But there are better uses for a roster spot.
Why are you putting Forbes sickness like it doesn't mean anything...if he leaves his insulin at the hotel he is screwed right?
Bahhh so much foolishness in this board. Unless you can read minds you don't know what every FO is thinking. Everybody quit jumping to conclusions and see how this plays out. I am sticking with Royce on this one give him the care he needs.
So you think the Rockets won't allow him to go back to the Hotel and get it? I'm sure there is insulin in the Rockets trainers bag at all times regardless
Morey shoots himself in the foot and everybody is blaming the gun. Even if Royce gets to camp, this is a day to day illness. He may play one night and can get to the next city for the next game. Jerome Soloman had the worst comparison saying they should treat this like a cold or injury. Those heal, this does not. I hope he gets help and is productive for his own sake.

He wants to get this matter settled now before committing to the team/season. It's bad timing on his part, and shows a lack of professionalism to some degree, as he should have had this demand on the table BEFORE training camp. But if being able to take a bus to games is more important to him than NBA millions, then that's his choice to make.
It's not ideal, but it's not a worse case scenario either. Imagine if he went AWOL the day before the first road game. That would be a nightmare. I think both sides need to come together ASAP and get it worked out. Morey knew this was an issue when he drafted him, just as much as Royce knew this was an issue before training camp. It's up to them to work it out and get this thing moving, because him missing any time is a setback to both parties.
He wants it in writing. What if the Rockets verbally promised him things. Verbal is worth ****. It needs to be writing down for it to be legitimate. I am with royce on this one. Remember royce was with the team prior to camp & media day working out and everything. He was there early. People seem to have forgotten that.
