Romney had passion. Obama had substance and poise. In a President, who represents the country both domestically and internationally, poise, substance, and consistency are essential. While Romney has re-motivated his base, I believe Obama, in the long-term will benefit. Victory = Obama
I think Romney won and really it was not close. I think a weak upcoming jobs report along with this debate victory could pull this race closer as it seemed to be headed in one direction.
Romney obliterated Obama. Seriously, that was a pathetic performance by the president and he might just have tied this race up if not worse.
But I thought the presidential race had already been declared to be over several weeks ago (on two separate occasions). Apparently not.
Obama was soundly beaten. He needs to step it up next debate. Romney got him right on the first questions. Obama: something vague Romney: 5 specific areas Romney is known for all bark no bite type of politician so far and he came out gunnin. Next debate will be interesting.
define win? I gravitated toward Obama because he seemed more reasoned in his responses, but I tend to like the more intellectual presidential nominees.
I don't care about either candidate. Obama was everywhere when he answered the question, I lost track of what he said in the beginning of each answer because he drifts into so many different points. Romney definitely won
I think Romney won the debate and it wasn't close. The president seemed disinterested and bored, Romney looked fired up. On substance, I don't think either candidate did well but this debate wasn't about substance, it was about appearance. As a supporter of president Obama, his performance was very disappointing.
Romney won because he had the distinct advantage of never offering a clear description of his tax plan. Because of that, he could easily spring surprises on Obama's debate points.
The problem is, Romney is all talk. No specifics and several contradictions that would kill him in a fact check. Have to give it to him for being well prepared and good rhetorics, but really Romney is just trying to gain voters by saying things he has no idea how to pull off and is keeping voters in the dark on how he wants to change things in detail.
I think what would be interesting is if anybody vote is changed by these debates. I would love to find some hidden undecided ppl and see how the debates affected them.
Obama looked bored, uninterested, almost like HE doesn't believe in his own policies. Kinda looked like he's tired of being the Prez.
It pretty much was. This is a nick the brick choke job, but Romney is kind of lying. He is stating he will get rid of the individual mandate, but keep the preexisting conditions. What would stop someone from getting sick and then just buying insurance after after they got sick.
I asked this in the debate thread but I would really like to know. Did the debate change anyone's vote?
