I am neutral...not really a fan of either one of them. It's always easier to criticize someone who has actually done the job and talk about how great your conceptual plan is compared to policies in place. That being said, I feel like Romney looked much sharper in round one. He really did a better job.

He also came across as smug and arrogant. But you have to admit, if you knew nothing about politics and you tuned in, you would be more impressed with Mitt.

I see this changing in round two.

It is amazing to hear you admit that 1) you don't care if someone is demonstrably and significantly less honest and 2) you acknowledge and laud 'appearance' yet seem unphased by the lack of actual content. My goodness, that is sad.

This will save me some time, because I could go on and on, but this is one of the many long list of lies Obama has spewed out. I'm sure you could find the exact same kind of list for Romney, because that's just how politics is.

HAVING SAID THAT, I'm a Republican, and I know for a fact that Romney has said his fair share of lies. A whole lot of them in fact. That's the reality of politics, and it's why I hate them. Just lies upon lies to gain a majority vote, a vote that is made with the expectation that these candidates follow through with these statements they make, yet many times fail to do.

But if you're SERIOUSLY going to sit here and try to say that Obama is some angelic being who has never uttered false statements during his presidency and his campaigns, then all I can say is LOL...Like that's really just hilariously ignorant.

It wasn't about saying anything memorable. Romeny stood on stage and held his own with a president that many folks are disappointed in....it doesn't matter to America if half of the things Mitt said are untrue. First impressions are hard to overcome.

There are a few exceptions, but by and large, the mainstream media has one bias: making you think the election isn't over. If you check out, fewer people read, listen and watch their materials. Whoever the underdog is will generally be "perceived" to have had the better night by the vast majority.

That was an ASS WHIPPING. Competent versus incompetent. Obama just was outclassed and humiliated with facts. Obama is the candidate of the dumb voters and freeloaders and that's obvious after tonight (and the last 4 years). Romney stands for the people who are self reliant, freedom loving, responsible adults. Tonight was a stark contrast between the media-hyped, Hollywood phony candidate versus the executive leader, the successful businessman, and the bipartisan governor. Romney just whooped that skinny little boy's butt.

I live in Texas and I'll tell you what....You would think Obama would have no chance to win if you only spoke with people in our on communities

    Retail politics.

    Sad but true.

I mean, in terms of voters, I do think Romney looked a hell of a lot more polished, and given the fact that both of them were talking about things 99.8% of undecideds know little to nothing about (Dodd-Frank, Simpson-Bowles), that will make the key difference.

You can lament it all you want, but that's politics.

I think you may be the ignorant one toeing your party line. I never said Obama never lied, I said he didn't build a campaign on lies, fluff and misdirection. He's a magician. He's got certain people dazzled. Everything Romney said, without specifics is basically a lie of omission. He told a story tonight, that's it. He'll cut taxes and reduce spending, but we don't know how. Obamacare is crap he will repeal, but and his plan is somehow different than Obamas? Really? How? Another lie by omission. He will magically create more jobs, and the numbers he's thrown out in the past critics have said are unrealistic. He get's around directly lying by not discussing specifics, it's still a lie to me. Obama has done it differently. We know what he is shooting for, we know his platform as well as his mechanism. Romney's mechanism is still not known to me. That's not good.

Did Obama not understand at all that he was dealing with a serial liar and flip flopper and he should better be ready to deal with this.

What I am telling you is in direct response based on your initial argument that the fact checking articles will somehow sway the debate in Obama's favor. I will again reiterate that in general, many undecided voters are not keeping a tally in a little journal stating that "Romney has lied 11.3% more times than Obama therefore he is untrustworthy and evil."

Take a look at this thread and pay attention to other "undecided" voters and they will echo my sentiment as far as Romney winning the debate and why he has done so. I'm not alone in this. I don't expect you to understand because clearly you have your mind made up as to who you will vote for and that is fine. If you want the honest opinion of someone who is still on the fence, I will kindly give you mine and why I made it. As stated, there is still a long way to go before November.

I'm an undecided. To the people claiming victory to rom, I suspect you are republican and were going to vote.for him regardless. But there's nothing he said that I could grab onto and say "wow, this is why he should be pres." He gave no details, just came off as a smug "I'm better then you" jerkoff. no substace
