Not really. If Schaub went down, you know they'd try to sign a vet (probably Beck again) to back up Yates.
Wonder what upcoming opponent will add Beck as their 3rd stringer and then mysteriously release him after we play?
If all you can say about a player is "he plays special teams well," we don't need him. (especially if it's not the returner) I still believe in Holliday. He may be one of the fastest players in the league. His time will come just like it did in preseason. This isn't madden. Big plays don't happen 100% of the time.
Good special teams players can shift field position in a hurry. Almost every good team has a player or two on special teams that is capable of making big plays, whether it's being an exceptional gunner (which is what I believe Keo is), someone who can blow up blocking schemes to get to the punter/kicker, or a kick returner. A lot of times, special teams is how guys hang on in the league long enough to get their chances to contribute on offense or defense as well.
Braman also has shown ability when playing on defense. If Keo is a gunner, he's got to be pretty impressive because he was liability playing safety. Besides our eyeball test, it's telling that staff didn't trust him to be rotated in once Demps was confirmed out.
Yeah I agree with this. Let's just hope it doesn't ever get to the point where we need Yates, or any backup QB for that matter.
Didn't want to start a new thread, but can someone link me to the Yates pic where he's giving a molester look and licking his finger? I used it as the background on my phone last year for good luck (and also several times to creep out my girl), but I changed it since and now I can't find it again.
