Is it only me that coach Mchale is a morose, pessimistic person?

It's not right to gossip and start rumors. Clearly, he's Australian.

 

Maybe mchale is here to develop a young squad... And in a few years, well hire a different coach to get them to the next level.

Sometimes you gotta see the bigger picture.

 

Maybe, maybe no.

 

The real question should be, where is this Dr. Frankenstein and what is he up to now?

Check out what Mchale said at the end. Almost sounds like he's saying " Give up kids, we'll never gonna win".

I cannot find a reason to like him anymore.

 

He doesn't look morose to me.

He was not the same joke cracking guy who does ESPN broadcasts that you think he is as a coach. He was a worn out, pessimistic, jerk when he was the coach here in Houston, and anywhere else 95% of the time. Yes, he was a good quality coach, but far from a perfect one. Actually one the basketball court, his gameplan is very similar to that of Kevin McHale's.

Coaching does something to people. Most people around the NBA raved about how funny and likeable he was even before his NBATV days. Now that he's a coach, he has his game face on.

Yes, I get that he comes off as an A-hole, but its nothing different that 95% of the coaches out there when they are in the hot seat. Especially Jeff Van Gundy the coach.

 

Damn, he looks OLD.

 

If you hear speeches about motivation, first point is to understand and accept reality. Without this, rarely you are gonna get an authentic motivation from the players. In this sense I support him 100%.

 

He does keep mentioning how Lin is not 100% when Lin himself has said throughout the summer that he is. I think he may have strained it and the team is keeping it low profile... no sense in starting the year with more Linjury news when the Billboards are up for a New Age.

It's okay to be realistic, but I've never heard of a coach say the things McHale is saying, "we're not a championship contender".... "our guys defending LeBron, good luck!"... who outright says things like this?

 

How he coaches is what counts to me....not his looks or demeanor.

Based on what he has done so far, I'm very unimpressed. This is a critical season for our rookies and I hope we have the right guy in place to guide them into becoming solid NBA players.

 

I hate how he's always making excuses. He needs to stop mentioning the fact that we don't really have any veterans, it sounds like he's trying to downplay expectations.

 

After watching the joint press conference with him and Morey it seemed to me that he isn't on the same page as his GM. The way he answered the questions were very peculiar and in some regards contradicted what Morey has been telling us. Check out the video on the rockets official website.

 

Bump after 8 days of no replies and then only to throw out another meaningless sentence, not even based on a new interview or article. Desperate...
