Other than the ones already mentioned in here, these are a few of my favs. None of them really have a scary element IMO, but they're just fun to watch: Childs Play (1st one) Candyman (1st one and mayyyyybeee the 2nd one..just maybe) Night of the Living Dead (remake); they all could have survived if.... Paranormal Activity (all of them); fun to watch. Trick r Treat; This movie is a hit or miss with some people. It's a hit with me. Cult status. It probably would have been just a$ popular a$ Paranormal Activity if it had been marketed correctly and came out in theaters. Who knows. The Puppet Master (the 1st 5 of them); Andre Toulon and his toys. Those puppets mean business. I could watch these cheap B movies all day. Foreign horror movies; there's too many of them to list.
Didn't scare me. The Japanese version was better but still not great. Also, I'm particular about rules of fantasy universes. I was okay when the ghosts were contained in the house. But when the ghosts followed them home, that ruined it for me. *shrug*
My list is the same as all the others. The scariest film of all time is either The Shining or Alien. It's a tough call. And Aliens and John Carpenter's The Thing are the two most intense. I envy the teenager who hasn't seen those four films.
part in exorcist 3 where the old lady is crawling on the ceiling in the hospital was a bit disturbing when i saw the first time as a kid.
I have to agree with most of you on The Shining and The Exorcist. Another one for me that freaked me out was Audition. I seriously felt like throwing up after watching it.
forgot about this one. awesome, awesome movie. still love the concept. bummed that all the lost footage was actually thrown away.

The Strangers - two days after watching I stayed the night at our place in the country. There was bad weather and I know someone was going to knock on the door. Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Nightmare on Elm Street - two that messed with me as a kid.
The shining was scary to me as a child, but when it comes down to it, Silence of the lambs scared me the most due to its more realistic creepiness.
There's like a 6-hour horror movie among RT's highest rated, might be foreign, I wanna see it someday. A lot of the top horror movies on RT seem to be foreign. I need to get into that someday, I'm just not huge on scary movies. I like em' though.
A couple of different movies more psychologically scary... Jacob's Ladder The Vanishing (French version)
