agreed he played well too that game was fun to watch i dont understand how people can complain about the LSU/Alabama game because it was low-scoring, and then those same people get upset about an exciting game like this
Believe it or not, Baylor left points out there. On a gimme FG. Also, Briles should have gone for it on fourth when Baylor attempted the longer kick. That was the difference.
656 passing yards, 8 TDs, 6 INCOMPLETIONS Geno Smith has been playing absolutely insane football this season.
Because they are both extreme. Give me an in between game. Not a game you can predict what is going to happen every possession. Today game was so pathetic because it's hard to imagine how a WR can be open with no defender around him on damn near every play.
This wasn't exciting. This was an affront on defense. That was absolutely pathetic by both teams, and both defensive coordinators should be forced to do burpees with their teams this week. How can two top 25 teams have such horrible tackling skills?? And the corner play was god awful to watch.
You do realize that there was tons of plays out there? The defenses were gassed. These are easily two of the top offenses in the nation.
Exciting games are when you don't know what will happen. LSU vs. Alabama, you know it'll be run, run, run, punt with an occasional FG. This game was TD after TD, and the defense was laughable. A balance of offense and defense is needed to have an exciting game where great plays are made on both sides of the ball.
Why were there a ton of plays? Because every score was a quick one. I'm not buying the defenses were gassed excuse. The score was 35-35 at halftime. Neither defense should have been tired considering they weren't on the field for long periods of time.
I watch the Redskins play every sunday, today was nothing compared to their secondary Big 12 is clearly the second best confernce in college football. Those teams that left are regretting it now
I honestly don't see how anyone could even try to excuse the defense that was played in this game today.
These offenses are going to make a lot of defenses look bad this season. That's my point. As far as the numbers of plays, 2 uptempo offenses that run no-huddle will do that to you.
Geno Smith put up nearly 500 yards againist LSU last year.. so he might be legit, i dont see him in many mock drafts though Anybody know if Gameday will be in Austin next week
Are you serious?? The reason there were "tons of plays" is because neither defense could cover a bed with a blanket. I understand that both of these teams have systems that are designed to put up points, but 133 COMBINED?? That's atrocious. It's as if both teams decided that they would play two-hand touch on defense to avoid injuries or something. They might be two of the best offenses.....but based on what I saw, they are also two of the absolute worst defenses.
^I've seen him top 10 in a couple. He has a great arm. Looked like RG 3 minus the explosive running ability. But he's plenty fast.
Yeah, Smith definitely has the size and accuracy to make it in the NFL. He might throw the prettiest deep ball in the entire country right now. He'll definitely be walking the stage in New York.
For Gameday, I'm guessing one of these three(lean towards an SEC site(2 vs 1)): (3)LSU @ (11)Florida (5)Georgia @ (6)South Carolina (9)West Virgina @ (12)Texas Longshots: Miami @ (10)Notre Dame (22)Nebraska @ (14)Ohio State Washington @ (2)Oregon
It's not in Austin. It'll likely be @ South Carolina. LSU-Florida is on CBS WVU-Texas is on Fox which leaves Georgia and SCAR.
It's probably SC-Georgia because that game sets the stage for the SEC East, but Gameday is regularly at places where ESPN/ABC is not covering the game. I don't think that's much of a factor at all.
