I like their defense, and they're missing their best cb. draft one of the top 2 receivers on the board and they'll be in good shape by the time weeden turns 30.
Browns are a decent team. Weeden just sucks balls and he has a crappy receiving core. They need to start using Richardson more. I think they'd be better with McCoy, but they need to stick with Weeden and see if he can improve, and then evaluate him at the end of the year. At 28, if he still sucks by the end of the year, they might as well cut bait.
the browns should play like the jags. feed Richardson and play good defense. next draft get some weapons. i could see the browns and bengals taking over in the next few years if they draft right. ravens and steelers are getting older and could be prime for a let down. the problem is both of those organizations are run really really well.
Weeden looks bad, throwing the ball away on the last play of the game? come on man! Colt at least would scramble . Besides, they're wideouts suck. I agree they need to go to Richardson basically all the time.
^Typical longhorn homer. I've been having this debate with a number of people today. Arguing with some of these people is like dealing with children. Colt is nothing more than a career back-up. There's nothing wrong with that. He'll be paid.
No Colt would have been in the ER getting a CAT Scan. COLT MCCOY, the next DREW BREEESSEY MY NEESEY DD
can't predict hypothetical. That pick six cost them, plus throwing it away on the last play of the game when they needed a TD.
There's no argument to be had here. Weeden already looks better through 4 games than Colt has in any of his games in Cleveland. Brandon Weeden is easily the better QB right now for them.
Uh? What? Did you miss last night's game too? His first game, he played the Eagles who have a top tier defense. His first game in the NFL. He did fine against Cincy. He also did fine against Buffalo aside from the two picks he threw at the end when the game was pretty much over. It wasn't a great performance but then again, I saw games last year where Colt had a lot worse. And last night. I think he played a fine game. Aside from the pick he threw in the 4th quarter, he played great for a rookie with his WR's dropping passes all over the place. So far, i'd say he's better than Colt. Colt's a good solid backup at best. Weeden through 4 games with what he's played against and who he's had on the field has been solid. They've been in all 4 games they lost.
And outside of the Cincy game, it has been Weeden's fault they lost. I watched about half the game last night, and Weeden looked bad. McCoy is a career backup, not a starter, but so far Weeden hasn't shown he belongs in the NFL, and at 28, there isn't much time for growing pains.
Again, I though the played fine last night. I don't think they lost yesterday because of just that one INT he threw. You can place the blame more on the defense and the WRs that weren't catching the ball throughout the entire game. I don't know what your definition of bad is though. But he was the reason they were in the game in the first place against a top NFL team on the road. Not to say he didn't have bad throws, just like any NFL rookie QB would, but he got better as the game went on. 4 games is a small sample size to dismiss him from the starting job, but I'm giving him credit for some of the things he did right.
The Browns defense gave up 16 points, but you consider them at fault? More than the QB who went 25-52 with an interception that was returned for a TD? The receivers do suck, but so does Weeden. You keep saying for a rookie, which is basically accepting that he does suck. I said he should start the rest of the season, but McCoy would be better for the team right now. Difference is we know McCoy is what he is, and neither is taking the Browns to the playoffs. Weeden & Tannehill were such stupid picks, it blows my mind.
