Will Motiejunas be able to replace Scola's presence?

    Its not the only measure of success, but for a young skilled 7 footer, that will tell you alot about his value among the league after his first couple of seasons.

    I'm hoping he's better than Scola, but in reality Luis was a beast and we were fortunate to have him. Before last season he went toe to toe with the best in the west, even if he was horribly outmatched. He was an all-star lite.

    Scola was great, but imagine a 7ft Scola who is more athletic. Now that would be beastly. Motie talks the talk but lets see if he backs it up.

    Motie could be better than Scola by the end of the season....if he learns when and when not to shoot the jumper.

    i think what you should expect (next year) is a Jason Smith (Hornets) type of season.
    I know it's not a sexy comparison because Smith was a scrub for a long time and just took the next step / started playing well last year.
    But to me, he's the closest comp to Donatas in the NBA right now. Donatas is a bit better passer and ball handler, Smith is a slightly better/stronger defender inside.
    They have very similar builds, skill sets and mindsets.

    I'm talking just next year. Jason Smith is 26, Donatas imo is at his level already, but I wouldn't say he's above it yet based on what I've seen.

    It will not be D-Mo replacing Scola's minutes/Scoring - It will be Terrence Jones - I think T-Jones has a chance to be as productive as Scola from day 1 . . .

    I have a feeling D-mo's minutes will be limited to non- 4th quarter filler minutes at the 4 and 5.
