You can't go wrong with either but I prefer the build quality and feel of the One X (I'm an S3 owner). I immediately mask the branded launchers (Sense vs TouchWiz) but I remember preferring Sense over TouchWiz back when the S1 & EVO came out. I still don't care for Sense much but it's not bad. I actually do use it on my tablet now that I think of it.

"generation behind", yet you mentioned this in another thread.

for those that have tried jellybean know that it feels like a completely different os as far as fluidity is concerned. if having outdated specs means having the latest updates , i'll take the latter every time. not to mention the most developer support.

Completely agree. ICS is terrible in regards to performance. Anyone can quote me on that. gs3's will really be amazing once they gets JellyBean

I have an iPhone 4S and considering either iPhone 5 or a total switch over to the top two Android phones - Galaxy S3 and One X. Seems like they're all basically on par with each other but the big screens are really enticing. But it will be hard to give up all my games/software on the Apple side.

if you have a nexus phone more than likely you have it rooted and are willing to install a rom... A stable jellybean rom for cdma nexus came out a day after the google keynote for jellybean and nexus 7. I have had a 100% stable version of jb for two months now on my Verizon Nexus.

I hate ICS. I loved the Galaxy Note until I "upgraded" to ICS. Since then, my Contacts app is broken and hangs immediately when I try to go to a contact to call him, essentially rendering the phone useless.

Since then, I have only been using the iphone 4S. When my iphone 4S died (could restore everything from backup except some app data and the VPN settings, fortunately, after getting a new iphone 4S), I went back to the Note and replaced the stock contacts app with Go Launcher Contacts or something like that, which at least works.

But the other thing I hate in Android is the notification spam. I already installed apps to help me get rid of it, but I can't. I get notification spam from apps I haven't even installed, and I can't find out which app is responsible for it.

I will give Android another try when Jelly Bean becomes available for my Note (hoping that they replace the stock contacts app or eliminate the bug - googling showed me that I am far from the only one with that problem, but they couldn't be bothered to fix it in months).

    Until then, it's all Apple.

Try Air Push Detector to get rid of the notification spam.

Yeah I know. I used to have a Verizon Gnex and I've been running a rooted device for ages but I was talking about just the average consumer. I used to compile ROMS lol.

I have a GSM Nexus now running "Bugless Beast"

I've had some decent time with the iPhone5, SGS3 and own the HTC ONE X (HOX). I've always been a fan of Apple's hardware, iPhone included. The camera on the iPhone is better than both the SGS3 and HOX. Battery life as well. Other than that, it boils down to operating system.

I'm currently running CM10 Jellybean on my HOX and couldn't be happier. Fast, stable, customizable. Apple will always have the upper hand with apps, but it's not too big a deal for me.

The funniest thing is when iPhone users boast of a new feature with a fancy name and Android and even Windows Phone users have had it forever.

Bottom line: Both the iPhone 5 and SGS3 are great phones. Can't go wrong either way.

    Unbiased comparison.

So now I am faced with the dilemma that based on my previous post seems stupid. I may be switching from T-Mobile to Verizon Wireless in the next week. I own the Galaxy Nexus Phone right now, but switching over to Verizon I would have the choice between iPhone 5 or Galaxy S3.

    Galaxy S3
    -Android Jellybean
-Google integration (Maps, Gmail, chat, calender, drive, wallet, etc.)
-text and watch videos at the same time
    -free apps

    iPhone 5
    -Hardware acceleration
    -Retina Display (higher ppi)
-iTunes integration (I guess Apple Integration to compete with Google integration)
-facetime (i know there are video chats for android users already, but I feel iPhone users will use facetime more than android users will use video chats)

I guess I am tempted to get a change in taste of OS. I had the original iPhone back in 2008 (high school graduation gift) and had it for about a year and a half (cracked screen) before I switched to Google G1. I had that, then HD2 (which i quickly changed from Windows phone to hacked android phone). From there to the Sensation, and from Sensation to Galaxy Nexus.

I've been on android for so long now, maybe the grass is greener on the Apple side?

    thoughts?

iphone 5 is a solid choice. unless you're locked down by iTunes and all the money you stupidly put into it, galaxy s3 is the better choice.
