Probably not this year, but I think with a couple of years of experience, he has the potential to. He seems serious about getting better and the talent is there.

I think Dmo has the potential to be a 20/10 guy and multiple Allstar appearances. He has what you cant teach and that's height with athleticism and I don't mean dunking the ball but coordination. It's very rare you see true 7 footers with his coordination and footwork in the post with the ability to go either hand, it's quite refreshing honestly. His outside shooting is a plus but I think should be his 2nd option to playing in the post.

I will be very disappointed if Dmo is not a Allstar in 4 years because that's would mean hea not taking his talents serious and that's always been his question mark. I do believe his goal was to get to the NBA so I think he is motivated and would be shocked of he doesn't fulfill his potential.

I think he can become a more aggressive Pau gasol. I think te overall feel for the game NBA style will eventually allow him to become the passer gasol is. That's the one basic skill that Dmo has not gotten a grasp of yet as with most young bigs. I'm not saying that The only think gasol is better at than Dmo is passing just that in terms of overall game Dmo has the complete package like gasol and I think will perfect his craft like gasol has over his 10 or so years in the league.

Motie is my new favourite for the season. Hopefully for future seasons as well

I don't know about 4 years.. i think he definitely can reach all star level, but he hasn't faced the ups and downs of being in the NBA yet. This youthful motivation might get doused if things turn against him

inb4 he turns out to be Davis Andersen

but seriously I hope he develops into a better player than Jonas Val, so I can rub it in my roommates face every day.

I was thinking the same thing on draft day (soft, 7ft, 3pt shooter). But that's all they have in common. This dude is, aggressive, quick on his feet, and his inside game goes left and right.
I think he'll be #2 scorer behind Lin, in front of Parsons. (of course, after KMart is traded for a lotto :p)

Donatas definitely has the potential there. For a 7' footer, he is incredibly talented with the type of skills you can't teach. What intrigues me about him is how he approaches the game and the aggression he showed in the summer league games. He will have his ups and downs this year in the NBA because it will be difficult for him to adjust that quickly into the NBA from overseas.

He is a young player with tons of things he has yet to learn. First thing is, how to keep himself out of foul trouble because of his aggressive play. Hopefully he will be able to learn how to play aggressive with tenacity without getting into foul troubles. The good thing for him is that he won't get abuse that much on the defensive end because with Omer Asik playing next to him, he can focus more on the offensive end. Asik will take a big load off of him on the offensive end.

I would also like for him to work more on his post game even though he's already has a good post for such a young player. Hopefully he will be able to mix the face up game along with the post games together. That way, opponents will have a much harder time predicting his moves. He will also need to add some muscle bulk to his body, making him stronger so he'll be able to bang with the centers in the paint. He's not the most athletic guy so he will need to use his quickness and strength to out muscle other bigs in the paint. If he can add strength without losing his quickness, he will be able to dominate PFs, but I would like to see him slide to the center position.

No, Scola has a swarthy Latin presence. Motie does not.

come on. look at the all star list this year. it's incredibly hard to make the All Star team as a forward in the West. Pau Gasol wasn't an All Star, Milsap and Al Jefferson had career years and weren't All Stars. Rudy Gay. ZBO and Aldridge had several insane years lately, and they made the team once each.
And it's not getting easier with Anthony Davis /Kenneth Faried types entering the league.
To make the All Star game as a forward in the West, you have to be a superstar or close. All Star game in 4 years or bust?...

The barometer of D-Mo's success shouldn't be measured on All-Star appearances. The one measure of success I can think of is what kind of contract he gets after his 4th season(assuming the last two years are picked up). We all know skilled 7 footers come at a premium, and this should really tell us how he is valued among the league.

If the skills he's shown already translate to the NBA level then I wouldn't see why he wouldn't be a hot commoditie on the market, and teams will pay whatever they must to get this guy.

However, we still have 4 more years to see how his play translates, if he has injury issues, etc. Alot of things can happen in 4 years.

His goal this year should be to just earn steady minutes however he can, and hold his own in the paint. If he's on the court, and he's not a liability, his value will skyrocket even as a rookie.

On the court? Time will tell.

Off the court? Yes and then some...

You really think Kenneth faried is a threat to Dmo making the Allstar team? C'mon man dude is a nice player but won't ever make the Allstar team I'll put 100 bucks in the tip jar if he makes the Allstar team in the next 4 yrs. Pau gasol wasnt an Allstar last season, all the good fowards have been named will be 14-17 year vets in 4 yrs I dnt really think there a threat to Dmo When it comes to the Allstar game In 4 years and like I said if he's not a Allstar then illBe disappointed.

4 years is plenty enough time to make your first Allstar game. Almost all players who have multiple Allstar appearances (like I said) make the game within there first 4 years In the league. Once again this kid has a lot of potential so when you throw out names like milsap who's a very nice player and say the forward position is stacked. I find that far from the truth there's a lot of quality fowards in the game right now but there isn't very many true dominant big fowards around who arnt on there last leg.

I know as rockets fans we don't want to curse our young talented big but Dmo is a rare breed that hopefully we can train and mold into the player I think he can be.

And I said I would be disappointed for him not reaching his true potential. Which is a superstar in my opinion if he doesn't make the Allstar team but no were did I say Allstar or bust there's always neutral ground for anything.

His hair needs to grow DOWN, not UP.

Seriously, I think they don't want him to REPLACE Scola. They want him to UPGRADE.
