HELP! I scratched my dad's car!!

    I got gum stuck on my dad's car and tried to clean it off with those silver sponges used to scrape dishes.. now after i got the gum off. there are tiny white lines left behind.

    (its a dark grey car) happened today.

    my parents are going to kill me. what should i do?

    Take that car out and get in a wreck where you barely survive. They'll just be so happy that you survived they won't care about the sponge scratches.

    Magic marker? lol you're screwed. Just fess up, your parents will probably yell at you for a few minutes, tell you how stupid you are, but in the end they'll still be forced to love you :)

    if the scratches are just in the clear coat, go get some 3m rubbing compound of various grits. Use dove dish washing soap to take off any wax on the car now. Use the 3m Rubbing compound with the biggest bite. Work your way to the finest one, usually a polish, or even use scratch X.

    If it's deeper than the clear coat and into the paint...well, sorry, can't help there.

    it's not into the paint. just multiple white lines left after steel wool use.
