I would like to hear of this time travel machine you are using.

Purchase Advance Tickets at Kroger: Avoid standing in line by purchasing your advance tickets when you're out grocery shopping at Kroger. Advance purchase General Admission tickets are $14.50

Not sure about the DART, I've never used it but from what I've seen it's usually overloaded for the fair, might not be worth the wait, plenty of places to park around the area, can expect to pay anywhere between 10 -15 bucks.

You probably should've started a thread for this year.

Its probably not worth it to take the DART - will cost about as much or more than it would if you drove and parked. I looked into taking the TRE (mass transit train here) and the DART and it would've costs me more than twice as much as it would if I drove and parked myself.

The traffic isn't really that bad - just plan to get there about 20 min before it opens - you'll be glad you got there early. The Crowds typically begin to arrive about 1-2 hours after it opens. I'd leaveGrapevine at 9am if the gates open at 10.

    Have fun.

Good thread. I also recommend ordering your State Fair coupons ahead of time to avoid the long lines.

I'll be there for Texas-OU as I am every year. Tried the Deep Fried Frito Pie last year and it was incredible.

If it doesn't rain (60% chance on Saturday), we weren't planning on getting down there until the afternoon. Being the 1st weekend, I assumed it would be packed no matter what.

I was told by a few other friends to avoid the DART for my family's safety. I think we'll drive.

Only 35% chance predicted this morning, just a heads up.
