Battery life is really bad for me with either one. But I guess I have too many apps installed which just run in the background constantly.
After numerous issues with now my third iphone 4 I finally chucked a bit of a tantrum with the phone company and have been offered both these, so it makes interesting reading but am thinking of going the S3 route. If the cord had not of changed maybe I would of gone with 5 but also I copped 3 defective products in a row from Apple so kinda feeling that they hate me, as I know most people don't have too many with them.
Yet somehow the S3 has beaten the IPhone 4 in battery life tests from CNet, TechCrunch, and several other testers. Hmmmm wonder where your getting your results from.
Well in real life that's not the case. Prove me wrong. I had both phones this weekend. I paid money for both. You have any hands on opinions about it? Didn't think so. Save some money.
They are both pretty awesome, let's face it. Just to think about what kind of phone we were carrying around 10 years ago...a world of a difference.
Never used either, and not really ready to buy now, but my next phone will be an iphone barring something groundbreaking elsewhere.
I actually prefer that it's not a two horse race. Samsung has done a good job successfully wedging itself into the picture by trying to be the "alternative" must have device, but honestly, it's just better for everyone if there is a lot of competition. I want the new Windows phone to succeed. I want HTC to keep making great phones like the One X. I want to see the new Atrix, and the new Nexus. Competition and innovation favors the consumer, and partisanship doesn't really help anyone. I think it's clear that Apple has been resting on it's laurels somewhat for a while, and people are starting to wise up to it. The more great stuff comes out all around the board, the better it's going to be for everyone.
Yeah, while that is charming I'd say it does little to make me want to switch, but hard to say what it would take... I really like the way the phone I have is integrated with the things I use and do already. I agree with DarkHorse that more competition is a good thing, and that it's good to see others succeeding in this industry to further innovation for all of us.
Upgraded my HTC Evo Shift to iPhone 5 last Friday and have been pretty happy so far. It's very light and the new A6 processor works pretty well. Can't comment on the maps since I haven't used it yet. Galaxy S3 was too big for me and it's made of plastic.
And its already begun. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4914932...novation/t/do-iphone-ios-devour-battery-life/ Some users are claiming far, far less. One reported loosing 10 percent of the charge every 15 minutes doing nothing but texting and without Wi-Fi turned on. Another wrote that the battery charge dropped 40 percent overnight, with no apps running and both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless turned off.
I'm up for an upgrade. I'm thinking of waiting till BLACK FRIDAY to get a really good deal. Looking at the S3.....trying to decide though which phone to get....I have Sprint. Definitely want an LTE phone.
S3 or One X. That's all that's out there right now. Don't get fooled by the Nexus crowd, that phone is a generation behind minus Jellybean.
LOL....prove you wrong. Two things wrong with this. 1. How do you suppose I prove you wrong? 2. It wouldn't matter if I did prove it. You wouldn't believe it anyhow. Yes I do have a hands on opinion on it. As I stated, I was using my neighbors 5. It wasn't a lie to make a point, it was true. In real life I ran both phones playing Dead Trigger. The 5 really did end up dying on us. As pointed out, every single tester out there has stated that the GS3 not only beat the 4s, but it ended up destroying it. The battery in the 5 isn't any improvement considering the LTE radio it now carries. THIS is one of the reasons why the Iphone has enjoyed better battery lives in the past. Unfortunately as with anything else, Apple has been surpased in this area.
cool, thanks. Yeah. Love the HTC (i'd be replacing my EVO 4g which is unlocked). Not impressed by the Nexus. Wasn't there supposed to be some new ones coming out this winter?
Yeah, Around this time every year the nexus rumors start to happen. As others have stated, they usually don't have the latest specs. They do usually have the latest version of Android though. The "nexus gets timely updates" statement is false as hell. Especially for CDMA users.
Makes me wonder sometimes if they test these phones in areas with strong signals. My phone is great and lasts plenty long when I have full bars but when i get to an area with struggling coverage, battery goes kaput. LTE is great but if you have a weak signal say good bye to your battery. At least that's my experience.
That's usually the case with Nexus phones and specs but what could they offer on a nexus device if it were to come out 1 year from the last nexus which is right around the corner? They already played their Jelly Bean card. I'm wondering if this time they will go with major spec boosts or maybe the rumored multiple nexus release is the big announcement this time. I hope they have a new announcement. I'm ready for a new nexus phone
