Sorry to be pessimistic but this may be the dreaded SI jinx. When do Houston teams ever come through? We saw what happened when we had two NBA superstars here, they broke down in what otherwise could have been championship seasons. The University of Houston always blows it, usually by one game, when they have a shot to make noise in football and basketball. The Oilers and Astros, need I say more?

I won't get my hopes up until this black cloud over Houston sports disappears for more than two years (which we can't even get full credit for).

You can't go through life just waiting for the next bomb to drop. That's no way to live, man.

So you're just going to ignore the actual talent of the team, and say, "Screw it, Houston is cursed!"? What's the fun in that? We actually have a team that has some swag....be loud and proud.

He did not say anything about Texas, He said Big 12. Out of the names you mentioned
Brees played at Purdue, Stafford at Georgia, Luck at Stanford and Ponder at Florida State. Dalton played at TCU but they were not in the BIG 12 then. Does not leave much outside of RG III and in the Big 12 does it? the other guys you mentioned are all backups. Only guy other than the above mentioned QBs from the Big 12 is Sam Bradford. We are not talking about where they went to high school we are talking about what college conference they played in.

No, it'll be fun but still, I won't let my guard down until it actually happens. Knowing the Astros history, I saw the Albert Pujols homerun in the 2005 NLCS a mile away when Eckstein got on base.

why did you still watch Houston sports if you know whats is going to happen?
so why bother if you know they are not going to do anything special?

let us enjoy the games, while we can.

And then Oswalt went on to completely shut the Cards down the next game, leading the Astros to their first ever World Series. What's your point?

Seriously, it's not about letting your guard down. Every team writes its own legacy, and to insinuate that because Pujols hit a fastball out of the park 7 years ago means that the Texans are cursed in 2012 is insane. I understand being superstitious or cautious, but you're taking it to a whole different level. Anyways, whatever.....GO TEXANS!

LOL, I watch because I hope for the best and that things will change. I admit I was being Debbie Downer in this thread but it seems like every time I get excited about a Houston sports team's chances they always let me down, with two notable exceptions.

It looks like SI is saying his throwing elbow and Chron is talking about his non throwing shoulder. But when listening to the radio post-game they said he had two MRIs.

Right, but it was corrected to his shoulder and is said to be fine

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Matt schaub had tests done on his shoulder after the game, instead of elbow. Tests negative.</p>&mdash; Alex Flanagan (@Alex_Flanagan) <a href="https://twitter.com/Alex_Flanagan/status/250031707040935936" data-datetime="2012-09-24T00:39:38+00:00">September 24, 2012</a></blockquote>
