Problem is that Tate can't catch nearly as well as Foster.

Tate seems to look up field too quickly. He doesn't concentrate enough on the actual catch.

Agreed, but the Texans have got to know they're not getting any "benefit of the doubt" calls against Manning :)

Was anyone else impressed by Kareem yesterday? I thought he did pretty darn well, a couple Decker catches were great throws and great catches even though he was playing tight coverage. That PI call was bs.

Kareem is starting to become a good corner. It took some time but he has made noticeable leaps from year to year. He will be teetering pro bowl level at this rate next year. I believe he is a little bit better than average at the moment.

Watching the game again. Could have easily had 4 plus picks this game. Our DB's were killing it out their. Wow.

Mercilus was on the field for 12 of the 81 defensive plays yesterday. He usually spells for Reed or Barwin when he comes in.

You can always download the Game Book (last page) and they give how many snaps each player was on the field.

No doubt Brooks is a little behind. However, since the Texans only dress seven O-linemen for gameday, there's no room for him on the 46. The two reserves need to be versatile. Because Harris is the swing tackle and Jones can play the three interior positions, Brooks is left out since he plays only guard. The only way he plays is if he is the starting guard. That won't happen until next year at the earliest.

Foster is averaging 29 touches/game, which would be a career high. So Tate won't get benched. But I suspect Kubiak might start working in more Forsett moving forward.

    Yeppers. 65% comp; 10 TDs, 2 INTs (in 187 atts); 8.7 YPA; 106.2 QBR. And a 7-0 record.

    Let the "yeah, but..."ing begin!

Are you suggesting that we just STOP running to the right?? We still have to keep defenses honest on that side. Newton will get better as the season progresses. This was literally his 3rd game, and he went against Elvis freaking Dumervil. Again, the Texans are averaging just about 30 points a game.....nobody in their right mind would say play-calling is a problem. In fact, there are SEVERAL experts out there who are on record as saying that Gary Kubiak is the best play-caller in the NFL.

What point are you even trying to make here? Prior to the fumble, they were averaging 5 yards/carry. Why would you *not* take the air out of the ball if you're dominating them?

I swear to god...... some of you people......

we were going right left right left. running 4 times right netted us 6 yards and a fumble. NO, i wouldn't have run right. especially when we brought in a fresh running back and everyone in the building knew we were gonna run right. tate had no chance. and one of those experts who think kubes is the best play-caller even mentioned that he expected a draw right before it happened a few plays earlier. we were too predictable on that sequence. otherwise kubes called a great game.

BTW with this win, Kubiak now has a winning record as a head coach at 50-49.

I do agree that we got a bit predictable towards the end, but the idea of the ZBS is that even though you know it's coming, it's still hard to stop. Part of imposing your will on a team is that they can't stop you no matter what you run. I see where you're coming from though, but I'll give him a pass since towards the end of the game, it was fairly evident that he was just trying to give Peyton as little time as possible with the football.
