Just one Game? During his famous run with the knicks, Lin had 5 or more turnovers 13 times out of 26 games. He actually had a stretch of games where he had over 6 turnovers for 6 straight games. he Had multiple 8-9 turnover games. He averaged 5 turnovers as a starter.
The issue is not overblown in the sense that it falsely identifies a weakness. Lin himself thinks he has to work on his turnovers, enough so that he has tailored his training to improve on it. But it is overblown in the sense that the criticism is disproportionate. From looking at the stats instead of listening to pundits, it is clear that there has been an unusual level of fault-finding scrutiny applied to Lin's game that really has no parallel in the rest of the league. It is especially bizarre since he is basically a rookie.
Against 18 ppg, 8 apg, and 2 spg as a starter, with his numbers significantly diluted by a knee injury. Oh, and he rescued the knicks season, who undoubtedly were headed to the lottery without him. Haters gonna hate, LOL.
5 Turnovers a game is way too much for any player, especially a pg. and those turnover numbers are based off on his peak stretch with the knicks. He was consistently getting ridiculous turnover numbers. If you actually read what i said, i actually credited lin for an impressive performance. Do i think he deserves his contract? no, not for the 27 games or so he played. Do i think he can play up to and even surpass his contract. of course. I just dont think he is as good as a lot of people here are hyping him up to be thats all. That doesnt make me a hater.
When you consistently point out the negatives and never bring up the positives, yes, by definition, you are a hater. Like I said, haters gonna hate, LOL!
what do you mean constantly? I only said one thing. And i only bring up the negatives because there are a plenty of people who already bring up only positive things about lin.
But you're using only one aspect of his game to point out why you disagree with his contract and don't mentioned the positives of why maybe they offered him that contract. Also, many PG who are considered elite have higher ratio of turnovers than him, if based on that one weakness maybe they shouldn't be called elite then or get the contract they do.
I turn the channel everytime SAS comes on. I don't listen to his radio either. What's the point of listening if I already know what he's going to say before he opens his mouth? Plus, he's down right nasty. His comment about Lin went way beyong dissing. He's basically on a character assassination campaign against Lin, who didn't do anything to deserve it.
Oh don't get me wrong its a HUGE weakness that he should work on BUT there are players who are just as turnover prone. Superstar PGs so thats what I meant by overblown as in the criticism is overblown like you said not that he doesn't have a problem with TOs. Of course I would like him to average 2 TOPG like Chris Paul did last season but I would be fine with 3-3.5.
no i disagree with the contract for the limited number of games he played. i only point out the turnovers because everyone was killing SAS for even criticizing Lin's game. People are acting like hes a great point guard. Im only pointing out that he is not, at least not yet.
Nobody cares if you don't like his contract. It's completely irrelevant. JLin's getting paid and he's an international icon at 24 years of age. You're a hater on the internet. As far as his TO rate, he was only TENTH in the league last season among NBA point guards in turnovers per possession. Lin was FOURTH in usage rate. In other words, assuming your peabrain can wrap your head around this is that his TO rate was high because he basically had the ball in his hands ALL THE TIME. And he had the ball alot because he was dominating the opposition. When you have the ball as much as JLin did (4th in the league) you're bound to turn the ball over. The bottom line is JLin saved the Knicks from the lottery. But keep on hating BRAH, you need some attention in your life!
4.7 TOs is a lot but you have to remember it was his first time starting and he played a ridiculous amount of minutes and had the ball in his hands all the time. His usage rate was off the charts and was pretty much the highest in the league during that run. He basically had the ball in his hands a lot longer than even some elite PGs. As for SAS criticizing Lin. Its more about the fact that SAS seems to have a hard on for criticizing Lin for no reason. He attacks his character, calls him a trivial PG, etc. Its almost like he has a personal agenda against him like Skip Bayless has against Lebron. Don't get me wrong Lin still has a lot to prove but whats with the hate? Not to mention he pretty much ignores all facts and relies solely on his emotions. When someone mentioned to him that keeping Lin had no bearing on the Knicks cap situation he just ignored them.
Many brothahs are just plain up in arms about the fact that Asians are getting theirs. SA is the latest, loudest and dumbest, but there have been plenty. As in "if Yao Ming scores 30 pts in a game, I'll Kenny's ass." Greg Anthony was big on calling out Yao as a supposedly inferior player compared to Yao. The NBA has long been the province of Black domination and it's not surprising that some of the more insecure or dogmatic individuals can't quite wrap their heads around an Asian or Asian American tearing some of the black and white guys a new a##hole on the court. It's a paradigm shift and also a threat to racial pride, so of course people's feathers are going to get ruffled. Look at the bull#### racist comments on Lin's facebook page AFTER he THANKED the fans of the knicks! Any idiot who says race is not involved has their head up their a##.
Correct he was 4th in the league in usage, and only 10th in the league in TO's per possession among PG's. Even when Lin was limping around in great pain and had no lift, he STILL put up solid starters' numbers as a point. It's like saying "the rolling stones suck since 90% of their songs DID NOT go #1. Well guess what, they're one of the top selling acts in history regardless. He's a hater, and a passive aggressive in denial hater at that.
Finally you have his number close to the truth. 4.68 =/= 4.7 to 5.0 as you had it before. I mean why make a point of 4.7 to 5? If I say Lin TO/game, as a starter, was 2 to 4.7, doesnt that make me as correct on my statement as it was on yours??
