No, he wasn't ridiculously high on Dorsey. He gave Dorsey the keys. Dorsey didn't put in the work. Hence, he's not in the NBA. And yes, Dorsey does have a ton of athletic potential. Nothing was exaggerated in that video. What was hoped was Dorsey would do the work when CD wasn't around. He didn't. You always hope for the best. Joey could have been a lot better if he had worked harder.
so two things I take from this statement: 1) you have no idea who CD is 2) you were too lazy to read the article
In my opinion, our season hinges on Asik and how good he is. If he is as good as we think he can be, then we are a borderline playoff team. If he stinks it up and can't stay out of foul trouble, then we are bottom 5.
Asik will never be even average offensively. I mean, he's what,27 or so with 0 offense. The best we can hope for is dunks around the rim and solid defense.
Who cares. He is already a better basketball player than every center you have clamored over the last few years. Guys like DeAndre Jordan who gets paid more and have the brains the size of a walnut. And Asik just turned 26. It's called the internet. You're on it. Use it.
Asik's age, 26, is not a good indicator of his (lack of) upside because, unlike most NBA players, he came to basketball very late, in his late teens. It's not as if he's been playing since middle school and failed to develop offensive skills all this time.
1st Post On my way to be a CF troll? Asik should keep those legs up while hanging after a monster dunk! Teehee.
For a player, the key on defense is effort. On offense, the key is confidence. In Omer's own words, he was nervous when playing for Chicago. Transitioning to the NBA contributed to that, as well as coming off the bench for an established team. Also, confidence comes from your teammates, and his rarely looked for him on offense. One of the reasons he's seen as having "bad hands" is because he drops passes that he is not expecting since they come so infrequently. In Houston, he is not only getting a fresh start, he is getting a huge opportunity as the starting center no questions asked. If that doesn't give a guy confidence nothing will. People believe it is a big risk and question mark whether Omer can extrapolate his production in limited minutes to a full time role. I believe not only will it not be a problem, he will excel like Lowry, Dragic, and Lin did once they were in the starting lineup and didn't have to look over their shoulders. We are already hearing reports that he looks better than advertised on offense. With a system that actually incorporates rather than alienates him on offense, with teammates that actually believe in and look to pass to him, I think he will retain his effectiveness on defense while surprising many on offense. Playing with confidence, he does not look nearly as bad offensively here on his national team: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/aLbUqsx1IQQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Vh3asAkEiQ8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/47yYEf4QURM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/HT-3jJzYleo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Thanks for vids. Yeah, his hands don't look bad at all like they're often made out to be. It's a treat to see him catching passes while rolling. I've never seen that before, but I only watch Bulls games intermittently. In these vids, it's so different from Bulls games in which he cuts to the basket with his arms raised and ready but is treated like he doesn't exist hehe.
Is Asik as vocal a leader as tyson on court?just asking for those who watched the bulls/turkey national team .
