Hope someone throws a few things at that house. Enough at least to have to pay a deductible on the damage.

These next two were taken at an Obama campaign rally in 2008 in Denver.

So an effigy is worthy of property destruction?

Nobody started a thread about all of the Obama signs and effigies at tons of protests either.

    *Guy lynches chair*
Clutchfans- "...That's not a good thing"
    Jopa- "Hey what about Bush!?"

I don't even really get what your point is, care to state it?

i wouldnt do it my self but i think it would be funny. and just like those pictures above, it used to piss me off going to half price books and seeing these things they would sell that would depict bush as a devil.

i actually am trying to finish school and would love to find a job that would enable me to live abroad for some time, and would be eager to leave the U.S.
In saying that i just dont like seeing presidents portrayed that way, which is weird because i have sick sense of humor.

    who knows

No. If you can't see it from the pictures, then you sure aren't going to understand it when I explain it to you.

Funny? So, they throw a rock through a window and it hits a young girl sqare in the face and takes out her eye.

    That's funny?

    And justified somehow?

Sick thought process. That's all I have to say. Not doing it yourself doesn't mean a whole lot if you agree with it and want to see it done. I don't know your age, but I suspect you are very young. You gotta learn to think about what is the right thing to do. You gotta learn to think about helping the world be a better place. Not just be another unthinking mindless idiot running around contributing to the problems in this country.

Or I showed you that your point was ridiculous (your imagined hypocrisy) and you don't want to say so....

The Bush images are uncalled for. However, any reference to hanging Obama has an extra degree of ugliness given that conservatives in the US has a history of doing the following to black people:

An atrocity is an atrocity, Carl. There's no degrees to it. The only difference today is we are being offered "explanations" and "reasons" in crude attempts to justify black-on-white hate crimes as somehow "getting even" for the atrocities of the past. That's the same twisted logic the Jews and Arabs spew and have been spewing for hundreds of years. They just keep going back and forth, back and forth, killing in alleged revenge. Doesn't fly.

If you're gonna condemn hate....which we should....by not being a part of it, not condoning it, speaking out against it, etc......then condemn it uniformly. Otherwise, you're not condemning it but contributing to it. Don't just blindly pick up the political football when it's on the side of the field you like to run with.

People are using black on white hate crimes as a means of getting even now?...I think you need to come down off of whatever you're on and step away from the keyboard for a few hours. When you're done, link to all of this revenge killing that "they" are doing plz. TIA.

While definitely not a fan of GWB, I think that any cartoon depicting him with a bullet hole in his head or being hung is wrong.

So jopatmc... do you think its wrong?

I shouldn't have to answer that question. You know how I feel about it.

Sorry, but perhaps your zeal to try to point out real or perceived hypocritical posts (or posts that never could have appeared) of the past diffused any hint that the current example was wrong.

In the currently political atmosphere we unfortunately see people trying to justify one act by pointing to something that happened in the past. So instead of simply saying... "yes, hanging Obama in effigy was wrong" they say, "gee, someone did that to Bush in the past."

No. Actually, I'm NOT going to calm down. I live in Austin. Someone advocating lynching any black man, much less the President of the United States, in the town where I live is cause for concern. This guy is an *******. Check the video if you have any doubt. He threatens physical violence to people on a public street just because they want to talk to him about the LYNCHING DIORAMA he placed in his front yard. F#*k that guy.
