    One thing I don't understand with each phone is the quest to make them as thin as possible. My GS2 is too thin IMO without a cover and both the S3 and i5 are thinner -- that would get on my nerves trying to hold. Seems like they should make them a little thicker so you can actually hold them without a cover.

    Iphone 5 = 3.5" screen.

    S3 = 4.8" screen

    Winner IMO is S3 on screen size alone

    I asked this same question in the other thread. Is it worth using my upgrade to get the S3 or am I better off buying a phone off craigslist and flipping the IPhone5 for profit?

    I don't really care what phone I have more or less, I've had my thunderbolt for 3 years and just haven't used the upgrade yet. So if the S3 is all mighty and powerful maybe I should get it? Anyone have an S3 with some input?

    I heard from my barber who got an iphone 5 from his friend who works at Verizon, that if you try to terminate your line after getting an Iphone 5 they charge you full price for the phone instead of just the contract price.

    I.E. instead $199 for 16gb with $300-$400 termination, the phone is now full price ($600 or $700) plus termination.

    it seems all the apple/iphone/phone threads turn into this apple vs android discussion. i look at it, why not do the best of both worlds?

    i have an iphone 4, plan on going android with my next phone. the way i see it, at the very least i can still use the iphone 4 as an ipod touch. sure wont be making calls on it, but still can use the apps/web with wifi.

    LOL... Nice catch. btw, still loving my Thunderbolt, now running Thundershed... liked SOAB but the 'shed's battery life takes away one of the 'bolt's biggest problems. And may not even try one of the ICS ROMs even after they iron out the bugs.

    Couldn't the iPhone 4 use some sort of VoIP app to make calls (at least while on wifi)?

    This x1,000. Drives me crazy that people keep pushing "thinner and lighter" as if that's some panacea for all things wrong with the device. I've never, not ONCE, heard someone say, "Yeah, I like this phone, but it's just too dang heavy". At least, not since the days of Zack Morris. And thinner? Thinner=drops. My Galaxy Nexus was too thin and light, I kept dropping the thing. Installing an extended battery gave it some extra heft, and added a nice ridge that improves grip (plus the added bonus of all day+ battery life). Haven't dropped it since.

    Thin and light is NOT a selling point, as far as I'm concerned.

    Covered in cocaine? ;)

    Agreed. Both devices a great. Both have differences that fit their niche markets. Get whatever meets your needs.

    Yeah, it's really annoying if you're playing a game as well -- a cover solves this problem for the most part, but i'd rather not have to use a cover. The phone doesn't look as nice with a cover and it holds in quite a bit of heat that would normally radiate away and that's probably not great for longevity.
