Just got my phone. Man, the weight difference is a great upgrade. Now, since this is my first upgrade how do I get everything (contacts, messages, pics, videos, music, etc.) from my 4 to my 5?
If you don't have your old ones on "iCloud", that won't do you any good, Lil Pun. Read this here. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2109 It's fairly easy if you back up your previous phone before you activate the new one.
If you stil have your old one you can always just plug that in and back it up. Then you can start your new one from scratch again. There won't be a problem.
my current iphone wont back up to my computer and its pretty much pissing me off. got to figure it out before i order the phone. I was linked the solution, but i have to make sure this works.
I did a back of my old phone then did a restore from my new one but my apps and songs did not transfer....
Your apps should be on your itunes for it to transfer over when you do a sync. Music will not be part of a backup. The only things that it will back up are your contacts, texts, photos, and settings for the most part. The other stuff they figure you have part of your itunes and will sync the computer to save space on the backup file.
1. Sync old iPhone with iTunes. 2. Sync new iPhone on the same computer with iTunes. 3. iTunes will ask you if you want to restore from a backup. Select yes. 4. Let the sync complete and your new iPhone should have all the contacts from your old phone. You can also try doing a "backup to iCloud" and manage the settings to do only contacts and apps to iCloud, then restore to the other one via iCloud.
Mine is working great. Haven't noticed any of the reported screen issues. LTE is blazing fast. Had to buy a cheap silicone case until my commuter arrives next week.
