Yeah it takes all the shell, chevron , etc names and thinks they are gas stations even if it's a corporate location. Here is some recent info on it they are saying it is a work in progress. From the past I think apple will work pretty fast to get out some good fixes. http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/20/apple-ios-6-maps-problems/
So to get to the gas station, turn left, go up handicap ramp, take first elevator on left, go up to level 67. Well i have to give it to apple. They want to be different
I probably used the maps app more than most.. I'm sure that there's going to be a Google Map app available soon, so it shouldn't be a problem. Really though I just got the iPhone 4 because ATM it was the best available IMO, not because I like Apple products. But we will see which is best when my contract runs out.
Houston Metro was supposed to come out with an app last year complete with GPS tracking for buses. But so far, nothing. Metro just blows HERDS AND HERDS of chipmunks.
Sometimes I wonder if people are really just looking for things to criticize or do they really run into issues because of a tiny feature they wished a phone would have. Yesterday's post I made on how to reach Google Maps from your home screen was just an example of ways you can work around. Sure, they should have something definitely working BEFORE it's released, but... come on, now... let them fix it. Don't panic. I didn't buy a new iPhone, just upgraded to iOS6. Did you actually ask Siri or search "gas stations" in the maps where you could fill up, or are you just being dense on purpose? Dude. From the aerial view, you can see they're NOT REALLY gas stations... I hope you don't show up to the building and expect the information desk to pump gas into your car. It's worth a LOL, though. "But... but... but... APPLE SUCKS! "
Lol one feature that I always loved on android, even on the first g1, was google maps and when they introduced google navigation, I fell in love. I use navigation a lot on my phone so it's an important feature for me. It's a shame there is a stupid feud like this. No reason why the best phone in the world should have second rate maps/navigation.
Sorry, but inferior and terrible map data is NOT some minor issue. There's a reason why major sites are [correctly] hammering Apple about it. I have no doubt they're trying to fix it, but don't brush it off like it's a minor inconvenience like some Apple fanboy.
Dude, it's the principal of it all. When you pay $800 for a phone, you have the right to complain about any flaws all you want. And you should! Don't be a sheep and just say "oh don't worry they'll eventually fix it". We're the consumers here who buy the product, speak up. If everyone took your approach and just said "oh they'll fix it" and nobody b****ed about it, you think Apple would try to fix the problem? You spend that much money, you should go through the phone and try to find any flaws, if any.
Completely agree. The lack of voice navigation was a big negative. Forced me to rely on third party apps which are not nearly as accurate as the Maps application From what I've heard, it was Google that was withholding voice navigation from the Google iPhone Maps application.
Ummm... ok. I gue$$ I'll agree with your point... had I actually spent $800 for a phone OR even iOS 6... which I didn't. Who does that, anyway? Are you serious, spending $800 for a phone?!?!? Why? What "major sites", br0ken_shad0w?
You've spent more than $800 total on your iPhone 4s by being in a contract which I'm almost positive that like most American consumers, you are.
Why do people even bother arguing with Swoly? It's well-documented that he has the intelligence and stubbornness of a 5 year old.
