Whataburger hands down has the best chicken strips...

But that sauce from Raisin Canes is amazing...

Cheddars is like the McDonald's of sit down restaurants. They're surprisingly bland and tasteless but they have very generous portions and hard to beat prices.

They just opened one in cedar park north of austin and while the tenders are great that nasty mayo and tabasco sauce is gross. Give me some gravy.

I don't think anything they serve is worse than what you'd be paying 1.5X the price for at Applebees or Chilis or any other of those chain sit-down places.

Agreed. The technique that Raising Cane's uses makes them fried perfectly on the outside with tender meat. They don't use much seasoning on their batter, though, so it is all about the dipping sauces there. The fries are bland, but the bread is fluffy and sweet.

Zaxby's is alright. Crispy batter but I was underwhelmed by their sauce. Fries were seasoned okay from what I remember.

59 Diner makes good chicken tenders if you want something with heavier batter. They fry it nice and golden to where the batter is crispy, but the batter needs more seasoning.

Golden Chick in the central Texas area makes tenders similar to 59 Diner. The meat is tender, the batter is gold and crispy, and they have a nice salted taste that isn't overwhelming. Good gravy. And the spicy seasoning is wonderful.

Whataburger strips use too much batter for their chicken. If I wanted fast food chicken strips from a non-chicken specialty, I'd rather go with Dairy Queen's strips. They taste better to me. Less batter, too.

Spicy strips, Popeyes takes hands down. The cajun fries are good, too. KFC strips are okay. Not great, not horrible. The only reason I'd go there is mainly for the potato wedges.

No place has great chicken and sides. They all excel in one area over the other, and it all depends on what mood I'm in.

You guys are really overrating Whataburer chicken strips.

Might be good when your wasted, but taste them when you're sober.

    They're ok.

Whataburger puts pebbles in their batter. Why else would the chicken strips be so chunky? ;)

    Raising Canes ftw.

Had to dig this thread up just to say Chick-Fil-A. And it isnt even close.

Delicious is the only way to describe. Just had some catered here at the office and I'm waiting for the cafe to clear out so I can go re-up. And thier chocolate chip cookies are also very very good.

I renounce Raising Canes after the Dwight stuff. Back to Popeyes spicy strips and Mardi gras sauce.
