Not exactly convenient to Houston, but the best chicken strips I've ever tasted (and I have a three year old, so I get to taste plenty) are right here: http://www.whitefishrestaurant.com/lunch Also, the best pie I ever had in my life.
They opened a Raising Canes in my area in the last year. My issue there is you can't get country gravy but have to settle for their whatever sauce? What kind of business based solely on chicken strips doesn't offer a country gravy? If I want chicken strips, the I go to Whataburger where they offer country gravy.
I mentioned the Toyota Center ones, but they don't make the same kind anymore. The ones they made like 4 seasons ago were amazing.
My wife and I don't understand it either. My son and his family love Canes, but to us, the chicken is bland.
No funny present, try harder. This is 100% accurate. Raising Canes is invalid for not having country gravy.
While I understand that Canes doesn't offer country gravy, at least they offer Louisiana hot sauce packets just like Popeyes. That's a win in my book if you like to eat them with hot sauce. Whataburger strips are really good too. The ones from Carl's JR aren't too bad either.
Chicken Express. Plus their yeast rolls are apparently filled with crack. And they offer some pretty good hush puppies as a choice of side.
Cheddars is underrated. The one down here in Westchase SUCKS though. Do not go there. Haven't been to the one in Katy, but the one up near Spring was pretty good. Amazingly priced, tasty home style food. Also Raising Canes is all about the Cane's sauce. Nothing else matters there.
what makes raising canes so special is the quality and perfection to making a chicken strip... they never use anything frozen, the fresh strips are marinated for 24 hours and fried to order... the chicken is always melt in your mouth tender, the breading compliments the chicken but doesn't overpower it with excessive breading and that secret sauce just perfects the taste... with that said, stay away from their fries, they lack flavor
The one in Katy is packed. The steak I had there was good and lots of steamed broccoli. I like ChikFilA strips by far. Most chicken tenders you get are prebreaded and frozen. They hand-bread all of their chicken.
