[rquoter]The Boston Celtics plan to enter training camp next week with a slew of new faces, with Darko Milicic being among them. A league source confirmed to CSNNE.com that Milicic, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft, will sign a one-year deal with the Celtics next week for the veteran's minimum.[/rquoter]
Some much needed front-court depth... Celtics are still very dangerous in the East. A Finals matchup between them and the Lakers would be very entertaining.
Celtics are very smart with their pick ups. I like this a lot for their team, another veteran to lead their rookie bigs.
His work ethic is garbage, I wouldn't want him around a team like ours, he'll do okay on C's though since they've already got established vet's.
Like a young chris webber! (but, yeah... overall, I think he is above average for a backup center.)
Naw. As a matter of fact, he has been doing well in Minnie for the past season. I would have liked him to back up Asik if it wasn't for the rookies.
The same Darko who when Rambis gave him the keys in 2010-11, averaged 1.5 assists to 2.2 turnovers a game? That Darko? Darko sucks, and anyone who even thinks he's a decent backup center is fooling themselves or looking at his potential. He makes Eddy Curry look like he cares.
Good move by the Celtics. I agree with how Bill Simmons put it... <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Heckle me all you want about Darko on the Celtics. This is a no-lose. Either we get a shotblocker or nonstop comedy. I fully support it.</p>— Bill Simmons (@sportsguy33) <a href="https://twitter.com/sportsguy33/status/248836487376941056" data-datetime="2012-09-20T17:30:16+00:00">September 20, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It's a Shane this guy was a #1 locker room guy and apparently helped calm Rondo. He was known as the Reverend on the team
