City would rather have you eating at a restaurant paying taxes than from a truck paying cash. City won't get theirs with these guys and they know it. Pension & expense obligations of the city = safety hazard.

what we need is a vietnamese sandwich truck. $2.50 for those things is a steal.

I work off of Main and would love to have options other than spending half my lunch walking somewhere to get something to eat.

And when someone gets sick from eating from a truck you have channel 2 investigation about the dangers of food trucks. It might help some people and hurt other others so people are going b**** either way.

These food truck operators are a scourge to law-abiding citizens everywhere:

i know you're being facetious but yes, that is actually part of the problem. not the prohibition of food trucks perse, but the pervasive negative attitude many of our elected officials have towards developing a more urbane inner city. these are the same people who want to increase parking ratios for restaurants in even our densest neighborhoods where access to parking is already at a premium.

i personally believe food trucks are one of the easiest, least costly ways of promoting pedestrian activity in our urban core and would be incredibly succesful in COH would just get out of its own way.

I'm a fairly big food truck guy but I just don't care about this since I never go downtown. In fact there is a really good cupcake truck that only operates downtown so I hope they disallow it so those cupcakes become attainable.

they need to make some permanent food truck areas...might make people walk farther, but oh well, they need the exercise...one area on the west, east, and north side should be enough.

Why don't they make a food park? A centralized area where food trucks can park and do business? It would be easier to regulate and keep safe. Fort Worth has a nice one with permanent restrooms. The Trucks change out periodically.

The biggest issue I see with this is allowing food trucks to set up seating. I am currently dealing with a couple of small restaurant projects in MN and seating is a big issue regarding permitting. For one once you start setting up seating issues regarding accessibility come into play and plumbing. For example many municipalities charge a sewer fee based on how many seats a restaurant has.

Another problem with food trucks setting up seats is where are they going to set them up? Will they do so on public sidewalks, in parking spaces or somewhere else?

There were a lot of food trucks today at city hall for the city hall farmers market.

    Okay, maybe four or five.

I liked fusion tacos truck. It was an Asian Mexican/texmex fusion. Not sure what happened to them.
