No one can tell the future. Right now with US' support, Japan might be undefeatable to both PRC and ROC, but US cannot stay on top forever. However, I can promise you one thing, Chinese all over the world will not stop trying to get these islands back.
Interesting, and a post with which i largely agree. You did not mention Israel, the 6 day or yom kippur wars. Given your post above, do the palestinians deserve a homeland at the expense of israeli territory?
And that's the hilarious thing. The Chinese b**** incessantly about how Japan dares to keep a shred of its nationalism. But who's the country that actually has the dangerous nationalism or the revanchist dreams again? No one's in Japan interested in re-establishing the Co-Prosperity Sphere. Heck, there's no one who's even interested in taking back what Japan held before the country went mad in the 30s. But you advocate conquering Mongolia and b****ing with about 20 countries on that map you posted, threatening global stability for your nationalism based off of what you held 500 freaking years ago. Yasukuni's nothing compared to that. And while I had assumed Born Texan's post about a greater China which included Japan was just sarcasm, I'm no longer quite so certain.
haha Like the Zionists got a homeland at the expense of the Arabs and Muslims that lived there? Whoops.
WTH is their government doing with the riots? If I were the Japanese PM, I'd be imposing economic sanctions on China now.
Indeed. You have my solemn promise to let you and yours evacuate ahead of time, and if you live on an island, preferably a small, rocky one, I'll give you an extra 45 minutes, because that's the kind of guy I am. Just keep the outboard topped off, OK? I might get impatient.
To your logic, Japan is still a p***y. It can not take that little rock it is arguing with South Korea, not to say the four big rocks in its north side in the hands of Russia. China is too magnanimous but that can only go so far. Ironically, on the issue of Diaoyu island, both Russia and South Korea sided firmly with China. My idea of an eastern Asian union is not for any country to dominate over another. It's more like the relationship between Germany and France. At the time being, Japan actually holds more faith to the oriental cultural identity, which originated from ancient China. Korea, Taiwan, Hongkong and Singapore to a less extent. It's absolutely a shame mainland China is the worst in this regard but it has the greatest potential no doubt.
How, stop selling cars in China or importing from China? China calls that an economic sanction against Japan.
East Asian Union aint going to happen. EU is the first and last for a long long time. If the US could have doover, NAFTA wouldn't happen today. Political union is a pipe dream, even Europe is not there yet. And w/o political union, economic union ain't going to really take off. But East Asian countries wouldn't even agree on free trade amongster each other, except for between China and Taiwan.
Really, I mean, really? What does Palestine and Israel have to do with this thread? My sympathy is actually with the palestinians, sorry dude.
Where did you get Russia? I've heard nothing of Russian involvement, nor can I find anything on Russian support towards China on this issue. You're forgetting that small fact that China is a lot bigger than Japan, and at that point, that's the problem. Because of its size, any eastern Asian union will be dominated by China. There is no ifs, ands, or buts about this, and because of this, no other country will accept. Especially Japan, which like I said, has always defined itself to some degree by "We're not Chinese."
China with its current government is very dangerous to global stability. China has the ambition to conquer the world once it has the means to and that is very transparent with the recent emergence as a powerhouse. This is not the first time; China did this to neighboring countries including Vietnam, Philippines and Cambodia. They do it subtly by smuggling its people into neighbor countries and bribe the head figures. They also kill the population inundate with illegal drugs with create myriad of society problems including AIDS, corruptions, and intellectual properties. Southeast will slowly fall to China
I don't think you have the slightest clue of China's ambitions nor its history. China certainly had the opportunity to engage in world domination, but it simply passed on the opportunity when Zhuge Liang toured the world's neighboring seas. Since you broached the topic, let's consider that term "world domination." Remember "the sun never sets on the British Empire"? How about any other European nation that has conquered lands in the Americas, Africa, or Australia? Yes, it's cute of you to try to project your own personal ambitions on the Chinese, but I do believe that game is getting old.
Intellectual laziness and feigned ignorance, hallmarks of any Japanese when it comes to their own history. Next time, try Googling. It takes about 2 seconds.
