Have you ever been camping before? Let alone primitive camping?

It's a legitimate question. You're the one asking for tips. It'd be helpful to know how much camping experience you have.

    So let's see...

Pack out what you pack in. Leave no trace you were there.
Be prepared for any weather contingency.
Pack the essentials ...food, water, shelter, good knife/multi-tool, rope, flashlight, duct tape!
Probably good to waterproof your tent just in case too; waterproof the seams.
Don't leave food out. Secure it up high if you can. If not make sure animals can't get into it.

a machete would help alot; a small calibur rifle(.22) or shotgun (410) IF and only IF allowed in state park. if not the rangers will lay a hefty fine on your a$$.a flashlight dont go so primitive take a g*ddamn lighter it'll come in handy. and believe it or not good ol' swiss knife.

if you plan on fishing which i'm sure you will have all licenses up to date.
    thats about it.
how long are you staying over?

Go to an army surplus store and get a Willy Pete bag (WP aka Waterproof).

While youre there, get those new fangled bags theyre handing out these days, the one where you put your **** in it and sit on it and the air goes out but wont come back in.

Used to stuff 4 days worth of clothes in a bag the size of a gallon ziplock. Put all my clothes in there, run over it with a MATV, and presto it fits in my pocket. Always handy.

Also bring more water than you think you may need. If it gets hot youre going to want it.

And... dont forget a map and a compass. God forbid you do something stupid and end up lost. And know how to read it, not saying youre dumb but many people dont know how far off you can get on a degree heading if youre using MNorth instead of GNorth.

The beach gets much colder at night than you would think, so at least bring a pair of windbreaker sweats and a jacket.

Check the wind speed. Rough wind makes it difficult to camp on the beach. Your tent might blow over, things will blow away, etc. Wind sucks, and there's no better place than the beach for crappy wind.
