You know that exaggerating the size of your videos does not make them more credible.

    Your desperation is palpable.

Exactly. A Free Appropriate Public Education is an "entitlement". You are "dependent" on it because paying for the educational services your son needs would be prohibitively expensive.

I have no problem with this. I'm happy and proud to pay the taxes that provide the services your son, and all special education students, need to reach their full potential.

The problem, basso, is that even as you receive a government benefit (a federally guaranteed government benefit even) that costs tax payers tens of thousands of dollars (if not more) annually, you b**** and whine about the "47%" and "redistributing" wealth.

The lack of self-awareness is staggering.

First off Romney hasn't been president so we don't know what a Romney Presidency will be like for sure. Second, GW Bush was joking when he made that comment Romney wasn't and Romney hasn't denied he meant what he said just that it was phrased inelegantly.

Soledad O'Brien caught red-handed in violation of CNN policy, commits the crime of real journalism:

It isn't lack of self-awareness. It's just plain, old greed (and probably a healhty dose of racism).

I have yet to meet a person who is angry about what other folks receive from the government who didn't try to get as big a piece of the government pie as they could when it was their turn.

First off, I'm referring to Romney's remarks at a fundraiser vs. Bush's remarks at a fundraiser, not their presidencies or potential presidencies. Second, we don't know for sure whether Bush was joking or not, as Bush has never denied it. Even if he were joking, one of the hallmarks of a well-received joke is it contains elements of truth.

Your comments are welcome, as is your attention to detail.

Do you pay tax like Mitten does? We pay taxes as well but we do not get this benefit, why should my tax dollar support your kids? According to you government should reduce tax and get rid of this service right?

you also assume there's a difference (from a tax/benefit/entitlement perspective) between educating SN kids and kids who go to typically developing public schools.

I wasn't a fan of GW Bush but I think there is an important difference in those comments and Romney's.

Sorry if I sounded a bit snippy there. Just habit.

Of course I would not want it right now. However, if all government programs that are only beneficial to a small groups are cut, like many Republicans want, you will not be able to get your benefits. Do you only want programs that benefit your family?

do you have kids? if so, your kids and mine are "entitled" to the same thing, a free and appropriate education.

No, we are pointing out your hypocrisy.

Public education is a government institution created so that education can be affordable to people like you. You are, of course, welcome to send your child to any number of private institutions (yes New York has many of them), yet you have chosen to participate in this government program.

The average annual tuition cost for a private high school runs on the order of ~$40k. I assume you do not send your child there because you realize it is prohibitively expensive. Yet, you mouth the party line that government is bad and defunding education is the way to go.

As other have pointed out, "the lack of self-awareness is staggering."

game over. Romney is finished. This was the final nail in the coffin. Actually, the coffin is already 6 feet under.

You an tell Basso knows it, he's definitely desperate. It's done. Barring something major, Obama will win re-election.

History will say it was because a terrible campaign from Romney. History will be right.
